i love this line of rubbermaid food containers. i’ve been trying to eat healthier and wanted to keep items separated in one container. the divider doesn’t go up very high. maybe halfway up.so you can only fill each side halfway and you must keep it upright or items will mix.definitely a disappointment and i will likely return the item.
so disappointing! i hand wash these and don't microwave them. yet after less than a week, one of the large containers had a big crack. within a month, a small one had hairline fractures up the side.they're nice because they stack well, the lids clip on tightly, and they're lightweight, but since they break almost immediately i do not recommend them.i tried to get a warranty claim but the company will not contact me back despite the fact i showed photos of the damage.
i want to love this product; not sure if i got a bad batch or what. but after a single use, the containers and really moreso the lids developed a very unappetizing smell. i've washed them 3 times now and the smell still remains. at this point i'm going to have to throw them away, which is very disappointing given they're essentially new and overall i like the form and function of the containers. it's just a hard sell to want to pack my lunch into a container whose smell turns my stomach.
after one use, a hinge broke on a lid. i'd like to just purchase a replacement lid but they don't exist. rubbermaid notes their warranty page and sends you to complete a form. i did so and have not heard a word back - no way to reach a human via phone, very frustrating that they claim a 1 year warranty but there's no way to reach them. i'd prefer not to send the item back (would require packaging it back up).
i bought these plus other sizes and every one has cracked. i expected better from rubbermaid but just like a lot of other companies they have let the quality of their products decline over the years. sad.
the lids don’t clip together nicely so it isn’t easy to store and my cabinet looks like my mom’s where everything is just thrown in.. even those i try to make it organized. i’ve microwaved them and washed them in the dishwasher and nothing seemed to happen bad so that part is good
i loved the rubbermaid brilliance bpa free food storage containers at first. in fact, i still love them for dry good storage. but the containers i used for leftovers have been disappointing. despite the containers being marked for microwave dishwasher safe, they aren't. every single one that i've washed in the dishwasher and used for storing reheating leftovers is showing damage. they've developed micro-cracks along the sides corners. three of the containers have split completely on the side, rendering them unusable. for the price, i would expect them to be more durable. if you don't mind hand-washing these and removing leftovers to another dish for reheating, this is the set for you. but if you expect your containers to be used as indicated by the manufacturer, skip the rubbermaid brilliance bpa free food storage containers.
sadly, as fantastic as these look, they do eventually lose some of their clarity (begin to get milky with reheating tomato sauce based leftovers, the lid clips break off (as only tiny plastic nubs hold them in place), and the containers develop cracks. they are fantastic for about a 1 to 1.5 years then they need to be replaced. will say i loved the fact you can microwave with the lids on and unlatched given venting under the laches.
reviewing after a year of using the product. i bought the 3.2 cup set of 5 containers. some of the containers cracked (see pictures) about 6 months after i started using them.i didn't realize how small they would be for my requirements.the problem is that lid presses into the container, and so takes up some space. while this is itself is not a bad design, it does become problematic every time you try to adjust the amount of food you store in the container without knowing whether or not it would fit properly. the product is advertised as microwave-safe, but over the course of using them, i didn't have much confidence in heating up food in these containers. and just as i suspected, they started cracking a few months after i started using them. i should have bought glass containers instead, even if they're a bit more expensive.not all is bad, however. these little containers are good if you want to use them just to store some food that you don't intended to heat or warm up, like fruits or snacks or anything light-weight. the lids do make a really good seal once closed.
i have always liked this, so i bought more. based on the price and the picture, what i thought i was getting versus what i received however.... if i would have caught that 2 of them are dipping containers i wouldn't have bought bc the price does match with what you would be buying. i should have read the description. so that is my fault. i purchased the 7pc. so now i have 2(with lids) that are a waste that will never be used. but based on what i have bought of these in the past, the price was to high for what i received but the containers are good quality amd work perfect for our family.note: we never reheat anything in our tupperware unless it is glass. we use these for storing leftovers only.
loved these containers when i first got them just over a year ago. now the last of them is heading for the trash. the issue is that they crack down the entire sidebasically rendering them useless unless you don’t mind your lunch or leftovers leaking out on you.for all 3 to break the same way tells me there is a design flaw in these containers.the search is on for something better.
i repurchased another set of containers to add to ones i bought several years ago.these seem almost like counterfeit knockoffs even though the packaging seems legitimate.the first time i washed them and opened the lid, one of the lid latches broke and pieces of clear plastic went into the food.the lids feel much more flimsy than the older versions of the same product.the entire container might be slightly more thin and lightweight.i used the old containers for years without a single lid latch breaking after hundreds of uses, but this one breaks on first use.the next one didn’t break when i opened it, but it feels like it’s about to break because it’s so cheap feeling.i have to be very dainty handling the latch.
i bought 2 of these from a big box store. after 3 months of use, i was very pleased and got 3 more from another store. i would always dishwash them, top rack. after about 6 months, they started to become brittle and random cracks showed.maybe from drops, maybe just from use.most cracks and chips showed in the lids.... which then makes them have sharp edges and does not become leak proof anymore. i will not buy these again
set of 24 includes 12 containers and 12 lids. no i was not sent a wrong item - it says 24 on the box. going back.also the entire shipping box was about half a cubic foot and it wasn't even packed that tight because most of the containers are so small you couldn't even fit a single head of garlic in there.absolute joke and total ripoff.the actual count of useful size containers in this 24 set is like 4.
