i thought this ice maker be great for an ice coffee i made. the only thing is there is not enough ice to satisfy me. it takes about 10 minutes to complete. that is a long time to wait.. i feel bad about that. the only thing i can think of is probably be ok if i go camping to use it. it’s not that great to use at home. i normally use an ice tray to make ice cubes in my freezer.
we bought this about a year ago, but only used it probably 10 times. at first, it was great, but the more we used it, the less it worked. now we have to troubleshoot every single time to get eight ice cubes. it really stinks to work so hard for everyone we earn, save up to buy this, and only be able to use it a handful of times. i’m going to attempt to contact the company and will update you here. we need a replacement.
you can't get an idea of how small the ice cubes are until you see it.doesn't make a lot at once.it would take half a day to make enough to fill a bucket.plus, if you tried making the ice and freezing it till you had the desired amount, the ice is wet enough it would stick together into a solid mass.we were trying to add to the ice we take with us golfing....this will not work.sent this back.
i just just received this ice maker and due to the instructions i had to wait 24 hrs so it could settle being upright. i was a little confused because online it mentioned to only use distilled water. however, the instructions says nothing about this. also, you must discard 4 batches/cycles of ice on first use.i was not about to spend money on water to only discard it. further, it takes a long time to make these little ice pellets. i'm not a fan of these at all. i prefer bigger ice. mind you, i have only selected the small size just so i can get through this initial process of discarding the first four batches. once i have the opportunity to taste the ice and see how it tastes and last, i'll be able to make a better judgment. for now, the jury is still out. if i'm not satisfied, i will return it before the deadline. i humbly apologize if this was not helpful to anyone. but i must be honest.
i’m confused if it should store the ice or not ? the ice from the moment it is dumped into the basket begins to melt . so the ice is in a constant cycle of freezing, melting and then going back through the cycle again. i believe that is why there is a horrible plastic taste if you go a few days without using the ice. would not recommend .
this machine was a disappointment to me. it came with good reviews, but it is very noisy and runs a long time to make the ice. it felt like i was spending more on electricity than i was on buying bags of ice from a store. it put out only a few little ice cubes after running 7 minutes. it was going to take a long time to get enough ice for one drink, let alone make enough for a small group of people. it wasn't worth the counter space, time and electricity for my husband and me.
the must put a warning signed ⚠️ on amazon product page and with label on the operating key pad of the ice-maker readable to let it settle at one place for the gas and lubricant to settle for 24 hours. in the manual, 24 hours settle time mentioned was not very prominently visible and any one would overlook and go by the picture of operating instructions. as everyone i was so excited to receive and start the ice-maker. if i knew i have to wait for 24 hours, i would not even buy it.
granted, the ice machine does work, however, after the ice is made it doesn't stay frozen in the space where the ice is put after it is made meaning you get ice that usually melts twice as fast as ice you would normally take out of your freezer. plus, it is thin ice after you consider the hole in each pellet. you literally have to use it as it is made or freeze it in your freezer after it is made before it melts. pain in the rear if you ask me. if i had something like that, i would want it to put out a glass of ice a minute, so you don't have to wait for your ice to be made and still frozen to use it. would not buy again.
fantastic unit at first. surprisingly repairable though don't touch it if you don't have an educated understanding of how these work.the controller in mine glitched somehow and even with the working limit switch pressed, the unit would still briefly advance the water tray and the motor broke the tray.i did some welding on the crack and put it back together. also i flipped the fan and that should be accessible from the outside for cleaning. unit is running again but i can visibly see it pressing forward before returning when the unit cycles. the unit should be incapable of forwarding the tray when the limit switch is triggered.i would be perfectly happy with a replacement and would give the listing a 5 star review.baffling and stupid reason for the machine to fail.
i bought this with the hopes of filling my lunch cooler daily, but that didn't happen. sure it makes ice, but that ice starts to melt as soon as it hits the basket. by the time the basket is full and you place those cubes in the freezer, they are melted enough that it becomes a solid block of ice in the freezer. it's ok if you are making a couple drinks and need ice quick, but beyond that is a waste of money.
i regret not returning this.it does make the ice quickly and isn’t loud. buttttt you can’t save any ice. if you leave it in the machine too long, it will slowly melt. if you try to store it in the freezer, it’s impossible to break apart. would be a good machine if you want ice on the spot and only on the spot.
ice maker did its job well for about 4 months. it was very well maintained for that period, however, that didn't seem to help much. a few days ago, the ice became smaller and much more brittle, it got smaller and smaller until eventually it just stopped making ice all together.taste? pretty good, we use an ro water filter, no issue there.noise? not terrible but not quiet either.will it last a year? probably not. this is likely meant to be used as an ice emergency option/special occasion. you simply can't run this around the clock or for any extended period of time.i got this on sale but still, i don't feel like i quite got my money's worth.
my roommates and i purchased this for our college apartment. it worked for a little over a year before the inner fan stopped working, casuing it to stop producing ice. mold grows quickly inside, so you must clean it every 1-2 weeks or so. it is very difficult to clean the back part that creates the ice, and the self-cleaning cycle does not effectively clean it. this is worth it if you only need it for a short time, but definitely invest in something better if you want this long-term!
it's okay if you're home and don't mind pulling the ice cubes out before they melt (as suggested on instruction manual).the large cubes aren't that large.i was hoping to use it in my small ice chest with 8 water bottles, but the ice melts too fast. not thick enough. probably good for a refreshments at home.
i bought this ice maker because we go through a ton of ice in my house. my hope was to let the machine make ice overnight so it’s ready for water bottles in the morning. i was so disappointed with what i found in the morning. little tiny melted pieces. if you’re able to use the ice very soon after it’s made then this works fine but if you’re hoping to let it build over hours this isn’t the one for you!
