this product is acceptable for setting vertically into an outlet on a desk, but not good for horizontally plugging in. because it is too heavy to stay on the wall after settling it up horizontally. the center of gravity is biased toward the usb jack side, not the outlet side, so it naturally falls off the wall when plugged in. this is also too big to use in airplanes.
the design of the product requires it to stick straight out of a wall socket when in use. it is so heavy, that it falls out. now, there are some dockets tight enough to hold the charger, but they’re few and far between. eight out of ten times it falls out. useless for airports, conferences, or. anywhere you need a reliable charge.ankar te ignited the problem and included a “suction cup” attachment. comically useless. it failed me again in an airport, today. i resurrected my order and wrote this. avoid, avoid, avoid.
i thought i had finally found the last charger i would need for my dell laptop and phone/ earbuds. sadly, i bought this thinking it was going to be my road warrior charger to rule them all. it almost never stays in the outlet on an airplane. it is too heavy, even with the funny suction cup it comes with. the one time i need it the most and it does not get me there. works great in an office/ coffee shop environment. airplanes, its a bust. i hope we can get a better product to help with higher power needs in a true mobile environment. good stuff, but need your help to get there team.
i asked the girlfriend to return this since it was her impulse purchase and we have so many chargers that do the same thing and more, she used it once and it’s been sitting since. i will hand it to anchor they make some good quality devices, and they have some outside the box thinking as noted by the suction cup support, but anyone who’s ever used suction cup things they get deformed and lose their ability to stick, and you have to keep them clean and there’s no carrier bag or pouch that anchor provided to do such a thing. a little bag is 1¢ when the device costs $60 should be been included when you can get a fast charging international device for way cheaper that does way more.
due to size /or weight it constantly falls out of the was socket. while anker seems to be aware of this, (there’s an additional mounting part that’s included with suction cups that goes around item.) this piece isn’t useful - as it doesnt stick to walls, and the area space it takes up around it eliminates access to anything socket around it- which in that case, might as well just buy one that’s a large size to begin with.
headline says it all,. in a power strip, where gravity holds it down, it's awesome. the moment i try to travel with it and use it in a hotel wall outlet, it just falls to the floor. might be worth buying, on sale, if you don't plan on trying to plug it into a wall.
the brand is well like in general. i had few of their products before. however, this particular product is not performing as expected. i plugged in an ipad pro (usb c), apple watch (2nd usb c), and an iphone (usb a) overnight. after woke up, the charging block was very hot.and ipad pro got 70%, watch 49%, iphone less than 50%. so, it’s not working!!! very disappointed. i already discarded all the packaging, cannot even return it!
i should have listened to the other reviewers. this adaptor is quite heavy and the foldable prongs don’t provide enough tension to keep the adaptor from falling out of electrical outlets. i bought this primarily to use on planes that max out at 65w, but can never use it because it simply doesn’t stay in the socket unless i manually hold it in place and put pressure onto the adapter so it stays fully inserted. i love anker products but this one has been disappointing.
do not understand why charging my apple watch and phone is so complex. should be as easy as connect them and done. with this charger you have to follow certain steps to connect your stuff.
i bought this charger a month ago because i was sick of family members taking mine and leaving my devices that are necessary for work uncharged. i have probably used this charger 10 times i. the 40 days i’ve had it. on a couple occasions i found my apple watch and iphone uncharged after a night, but i chalked it up to user error. today, being home from work i’m able to try it and test it with different devices, wires, and outlets, and compare it to my apple charger and another anker charger. this thing is not charging at all. i’m outside the 30 day amazon window, but now wondering if it will fall under the anker warranty. been on hold with anker for 10 mins, time will tell if this situation is remedied.
i plugged a dell laptop into the laptop port on this charger, but the laptop has a warning message that says the charger is a lower wattage than original, and in windows it says the battery is slow charging even though the original dell charger that came with the laptop says it is 65 watts, this indicates to me that this charger isn't capable of 65 watts.it does seem to charge a samsung galaxy phone at full speed however and is a nice small compact size. another nice touch is the suction cup mount to hold the charger in the outlet so it doesn't fall out easily, although it is only useful if you don't have something else plugged into the same outlet
product worked very well for two months until it's weight made it sag out of the socket it was sitting in. despite having nothing plugged into the block, it it eventually fell out enough to cause it to arc and basically fry the prongs and the outlet it was in. the product itself is good, but make sure to secure it!
i bought this may 2nd. the return window closed june 2nd. now after having the block 2 1/2 months it has started getting dangerously hot when in use. waste of good money. i am too afraid to continue using it due to over heating.
this is a good to great adapter. it has a small footprint and is fairly powerful.the major flaw i see is the height and weight ratio leading to poor stability. i find myself frequently having to, if being used while i am actively using the item being charged, re-plug the charger in because it's slipped out of the socket. it's also not great--due to length and weight--when wall mounted for the same reasons. if the wall plug is not tight then it will have a tendency to sag or fall out entirely. a solution would be for it to have a ground prong that folded in.if you are using one of these i would suggest it not be something you use to charge items you are actively using and perhaps moving around with.
the charger does what it needs to do but not even with the suction piece will it stay connected to the wall. its too heavy and falls over. you need to support it with another charging block under or it will fall off. very inconvenient, i've tried it on different outlets.
after one more year using, i am always wondering who the hell design the stupid charger. it totally doesn't support wall outlet at all. it means whenever you plug in to outlet it always slip out. try to image when you bring it to airplane or any other scenes.
the size is larger than expected. it's so long and top heavy that it is hard to pack and can't be used in wall plugs because it just tips down and out so that it never stays in a wall plug. it only works when it's facing vertically down, like into a floor extension cord/power strip. after almost one year of use, one of the ports stopped working. terrible design, do not recommend.
i was hoping this charging block was something i could take with me places, but it’s longer than i expected and requires you to use a suction cup thing (provided in the package i got) that braces it against the plug so it does’t fall out of the socket. it’s impractical to carry the whole thing around because it’s pretty bulky. if i had known about that then i would have gone with another option.it does charge fast and have multiple ports, which i like.
