this made ice as promised but melts so fast. if you add water from the faucet to a cup of ice, it completely melts in minutes. i wound up sending it back. however, if you like ice you can immediately chew, you would be happy with the model!
i liked the icemaker at first but once i cleaned it with diluted vinegar it quit working. too late to send it back. if the vinegar broke it i wish there was a warning about that.
i bought this ice maker in march of 2023, by july of 2024 it doesn't make ice anymore. a $100 ice maker should last more than a year. the return period ended in april of 2024, so i have no alternative but to buy another one. disappointed.
it started working good i got it in march but now is may and it started making a really loud noise and no return policy after 2 months i can’t even contact the seller
i got one and 5 months later unit broke. i contact the manufacturer very nice representative and replace with another unit. 2 months later the replacement just stop making ice! i contact the manufacture and ask for a picture of the serial number 2 weeks later and no answer from them! hopefully they either send another unit o the company give me my money back. i will keep you post today is jul 8 2024.
i bought two of these. one of them is constantly showing that it needs water added even with the tank completely full. it’s rather irritating that i constantly have to turn the power on and off numerous times to get it to reset and make ice. wish that they would replace this for me.
i used this for a week…it makes small cubes very slowly. i checked on it after 30 mins and there were 12 small ice cubes made. not sure if i got a defective model. ended up returning it.
i ordered the black unit 3x. 1st unit lasted 9mths which was longer than any unit i've owned used at least 12 hrs /day. 2nd unit was a replacement as the 1st hadn't lived up to it's 1 yr warranty. had to send it back as the fill water sensor didn't work manufacturer could not guarantee that other sensors might be faulty. additionally ,the first batch of ice was clear,weak melted quickly. 3rd unit was just as defective had the same issues as the 2nd unit .have to keep as amazon won't replace. hope it will live for awhile as i don't want to take a risk that the same defective lot will be sent. i have been through 6 units this has been the best but none live up to the 2-4 yr life expectancy advertised online.can't live w/o an ice maker.this silon was the best i ever puchased so i stuck w/the brand. now i don't know what to think!!!!!
dislike quit after three months and trying to return was impossible for all they wanted you to do and everytime i done what they asked they wanted something else needless to say i never got a replacement even though i had a warranty
was a great ice machine, made ice quickly. however after about a year, the screws in the machine started to rust and release rust into the water reservoir. you would think that metal pieces inside the machine would use metal that wouldn't rust. will have to replace the unit, or find replacement parts that won't rust.
it stop working. i had 2 of them. first one stop working. i heard a loud popping sound . soon after, stop working. my sister purchased me one for my birthday in october of 2019.. the same issue loud popping sound. soon after stop working. i was sent a replacement. same issue loud popping sound. its 2024. will not never purchase this item again.
granted, the ice machine does work, however, after the ice is made it doesn't stay frozen in the space where the ice is put after it is made meaning you get ice that usually melts twice as fast as ice you would normally take out of your freezer. plus, it is thin ice after you consider the hole in each pellet. you literally have to use it as it is made or freeze it in your freezer after it is made before it melts. pain in the rear if you ask me. if i had something like that, i would want it to put out a glass of ice a minute, so you don't have to wait for your ice to be made and still frozen to use it. would not buy again.
my refrigerator ice maker leaked so i bought this table top ice maker. it made ice quickly, made small or larger cubes i was pleased but after a few weeks it just stopped making ice. i returned and replaced it with the same machine and again all was well lasted about 6 months. and one day it too just stopped making ice. i'm not going to replace it. i learned my lesson. very disappointed in this product.
after only 4 months this stopped working completely. we have done all of the troubleshooting and nothing works. we are hoping for a resolution from the company that will not cost us money to replace it. we emailed them and are awaiting a response. it is a shame because in the short three months it did work. we absolutely loved it. i am seeing many reviews now that others are experiencing the same issue after a few months. not sure if it is a quality control issue. i will update when the company reaches out with a solution.
this is the second silonn ice maker we've had. the first broke after about 6 months, and it took another 4 weeks before i was able to secure a replacement under the warranty. the amazon rep couldn't figure out how to contact the manufacturer, and the first manufacturer rep was incredibly untrained. after finally getting someone competent, we got the replacement item (the current ice maker).it worked fine until literally 2 weeks after the one year anniversary (i.e., just after the warranty lapsed). the actuator arm that dumps the ice from where it is produced to the container broke. the shoddy plastic arm wore out. i reattached it a few times, but then it just quit.i contacted the manufacturer and requested another replacement, but they shrugged their shoulders and then had the audacity to ask if i'd be interested in paying $15 for a replacement arm...i saw enough videos about the nightmare involved in trying to disassemble this piece of junk after the first one failed to know i'm not doing that.tl:dr- be ready to buy these annually because they're designed to fail right around the time the warranty lapses.
bought this as a replacement for a 3 year old igloo ice maker of same basic design. especially considering the price, it's an adequate ice maker but it's no igloo. it does not make ice as quickly and the smaller ice catching basket and smaller water reservoir result in us not having ice on occasion when we use it hard. we live in the tropics and our ice maker is on from the time we get up until the time we go to bed. the ice never makes it to the freezer. this machine has trouble keeping up with our needs. wish igloo hadn't been bought out but this is working okay.depending on your needs this might be ideal for you, especially at the price point.
the cooling fan failed after 10 months of daily use. i've since read the critical consumer reviews here – especially those reporting the same fan issue – and, without exception, customers say that customer support from the manufacturer is either non-existent or not helpful at all.prior to that, we were quite pleased with this countertop ice maker. now we've ordered a big name brand replacement from amazon for the same price, that's also made in china, but appears to be built better, looks better, and the ice is larger, plus it's backed with a large customer support network.the same cooling fan model (py-1225h12s) is currently available on amazon, so i might replace that and keep this ice maker as a backup.bottom line: i'd give this product 3-1/2 stars for performance and durability.
this machine does everything it says, but 2 months after use it started making a horrible loud noise every time it cycles. unfortunately, it did not start until after the return date had passed. i do not recommend. we have owned several of these and this is the worst.
