i bought this charger so that i could consolidate all my chargers into one during travel. i deliberately chose the 45w charger because i was willing to compromise on charging speed in order to maximize compactness.what a mistake! the power management on this adapter is awful. if i plug in my ipad on one usb-c port, iphone on the second usb-c port, and apple watch on the usb-a port, i would expect them all to charge but at a slower rate.not what happens. instead, the first usb-c gets nearly full power, second gets partial power, and usb-a gets none. not optimal, but potentially okay if the charge delivery changes once the ipad and iphone are fully charged.that’s also not what happens. instead, the usb-a never gets power until you unplug and plug the adapter back into the wall. even if you disconnect the ipad and iphone, it still won’t send power to the usb-a until you physically unplug the adapter from the wall. it is almost like some sort of reset.if you charge your devices overnight like i do and hope to have a full charge in the morning, you’re out of luck unless you want to set an alarm to plug/unplug at 4am.i thought i had a defective unit and anker replaced it, but the replacement does the same thing.i’ve used many other anker products over the years without issue. this is the first one that has left me very disappointed. save your money.
i've had 2 different models of gan chargers from anker and both have developed the same problem. anker even replaced one and the replacement developed the issue as well. after a while when you plug a device in it will constantly connect and disconnect from the charger. this will actually drain your battery and the device will never charge. i really like abker products but they really dropped the ball with these.
disappointing! the charger itself is fast, powerful, compact and can charge most of my devices at once. however, good luck keeping it plugged in. it continuously disconnects from the power outlet, you can use the holding fixture, try different outlets but you will never be able to stop the plugged in notification music coming out of your phone as it continuously gets disconnected. i contacted the company initially as i thought it is a problem with my charger but the new one they sent me had the same exact problem
this little thing has 2 usb-c ports and 1 usb-a port. now, i only have power coming from one usb-c port; then usb-a port doesn't work at all. i have contacted anker customer service and am hopeful they'll send a replacement. it worked well for about 6 weeks, then had these issues, and i've basically forgotten to get it replaced since then, as i've just used other charge boxes.when it works it's a great little charge box in a small size.
i've had the product for about a year and it worked great, but it started getting really hot. it's dangerous to use it and i can't return it at this point. the cable is all right, i have official macbook and pixel cables.
i typically buy anker products because i've had good experiences with them in the past, but this charger really let me down. it is loose in wall outlets so it is prone to falling out on its own if the outlet isn't horizontal. i was willing to live with this but recently the secondary usb c port and the usb a port started working only intermittently. i noticed it a few days ago when my ipad started flipping between charging and not charging while plugged in and not fully charged. i verified this happens on other devices including my watch, airpods, and laptop. it doesn't seem to matter whether the other ports are in use. i bought this so i could charge two devices at once and it's the primary charger i use, so i'm really disappointed that it is failing. as i write this my airpods are chiming every 20-30 seconds when they start charging, and then stop charging 3-5 seconds later. now i'm out $50 and don't seem to have any options for a replacement or a refund. at least the primary usb c port works consistently (for now). i won't be buying anker in the future.
i was excited to get this to make travel easier with all my devices. unfortunately there are times when it doesn’t seem to charge from the usb port and it is constantly falling out of the wall socket because of the length weight of the unit plus the cords. half the time i wake up to find the plug has come loose from the wall and had not charged my devices. disappointed i missed the return window due to extended overseas travel.
edit: well anker just has phenomenal customer service! the device didn't work and i assumed it was a flaw with the product, but it was just the one i got. anker sent me a new one that works perfect and replaces all the charging blocks i would have otherwise needed for travel. thanks anker for a great product and great customer service.i thought this would be a great solution for all my charging needs, phone, laptop and watch. boom, done! but sadly i was wronged.when plugged into and charging my ipad and iphone, it will randomly disconnect from charging every 3-4 seconds, then reconnect.
i love most of the anker products but it’s been only 6 months and this charger is getting so hot that it stops working for safety! it’s a great feature except that it ends up not doing it’s job! only after 6 months am i suppose to buy another one? i’m frustrated!
not always, but quite often it will cycle power on and off, damaging the battery on my mobile devices (iphone, ipad, etc.). i’ve tried switching cables and ports but it’s had no effect which leaves the adaptor itself. this started malfunctioning just after the return period expired, so i’m unfortunately stuck with a $45 brick.
one of the charging ports stopped charging few days after amazon return window got closed. so, now i can't return bad product. i tried contact anker support but had to deal with robot voice nightmare.waste of money.
normally anker products seem to be good. i am noticing more and more quality defects. this is my 3rd charger where one port is notworking. giving them another chance to replace this one before i move on to another brand.
i bought this may 2nd. the return window closed june 2nd. now after having the block 2 1/2 months it has started getting dangerously hot when in use. waste of good money. i am too afraid to continue using it due to over heating.
seems like a decent charger, never had a problem with any anker products until this one. i would normally say its a fluke but after reading many reviews it seems its not too uncommon of a problem.tried to contact anker directly about return/replacement and they told me its much faster to go thru amazon for returns on this product.also showed up a day later than promised, but thats not really an anker problem. should have had a working unit on tuesday, finally got one on friday,maybe look elsewhere if you need one fast and to work on the first try.
