it is poorly designed as far as unpacking. it arrived clipped into itself near impossible to open into a crate alone. they really thought ahead and put the directions at the base of the dog crate so they’re completely useless until you figure it out for yourself. it was also bent in places before unboxing due to it being poorly handled until it reached my door. the box has holes and has been dropped from a good distance. the entire bottom is caved it.mine also received further permanent bending due to the poorly designed clip system that is near impossible to undue alone. if my brother didn’t purchase this for me i’d have returned it for another brand. i guess if i had 2-3 people to assemble it might not have taken me over an hour after getting trapped with in it upon trying to assemble.after assembled it’s fairly sturdy for puppies anyways. i’m sure if i had a larger dog, they’d have popped of the end and made the great escape. it’s not held together well other then those clips. there’s not good latching on the ends to prevent a dog from escaping, and disassembling it. if i tried to force through the side it would be easy. like easy for a small to medium dog to break free.it’s also fairly large(got the largest size).
this is a poorly made crate. the closure is plastic. if you do not open it up exactly evenly, the top and the bottom do not open at the same time to release the doors. the way it is packaged, creates the item to have metal to metal where before even use. i would not recommend this product.
it's ok as long as you keep tray secured, but tray stains and the marks can't be cleaned. the bottom uses a different material than sides so if you don't lock the tray in place pets can get through easily out of the 6 inch gaps. the bottom holes are very large. clips that allows it to be foldable are made of plastic. also lock on the door could be better. it pivots side to side as it opens and closes so you have to make sure all three tabs go behind slots or pets can force their way out. i've tried multiple cleaners to clean bottom but didn't have any luck.
i bought this right before i moved to allow my pets to sit separate.the doors are not on the ends! one must attach to the side door, rendering the door useless! which means there’s not even a way to get a pet in and out of one of the components!useless! why would it be designed this way?!there need to be two end doors!i want a second door end piece. where can i find one??
the written instructions are in microprint, so get a 15 or 16 year old to read them. second, there are drawn pictures of how to put it together, but only after every known language . they are conveniently placed at the back of the manual, which is inside the cage, and hard to access.
bought this in september 2024 and destroyed by october 2024 my dog has been escaping and destroying it just with his teeth it is not the strong and has been easily escaped every time i leave the house to the point today the cage collapsed in on him while he got out very bad buy especially for 80 dollars
this crate will not last long. the bottom is made of cheap plastic and does not last long. the connections do not match up correctly and ables animals to escape. do not waste your money!
got 2 of these for my dogs and they love them, but was closing it today and felt a sharp pain- looked and there was a tiny sharp piece of metal sticking out under one of the metal bars that punctured my finger, breaking the skin and made a small hole in finger.
i won't add a photo of my asphyxiated precious 2-year-old catahoula family member stuck under the bars of the crate door. i had to use bolt cutters to free him from the crate. the memory of it will be burnt into my mind for the rest of my life. somehow beethoven pushed the tray out from the base of the crate and then forced himself between the bars that allowed the tray to slide into the bottom of the crate. unfortunately, he became stuck midway through and couldn't breathe and wasn't discovered until morning when he was no longer with us. the retaining clasps had been in place. a combination of engineering error, strength, determination, and ingenuity of my pup led to his early demise. please don't let this happen to you.
so i can't lift the crate up because the metal on one side has been fused together so there's no opening it up so upset this cost so much been waiting so long now i have to return it wait for my money back than order another not happy with this at all
this is a bad design. the lower section below the door is caged like the rest of the crate, but my dog's foot gets caught in the open part every time he gets out. of course he screams like a banshee. it doesn't get stuck, but his paw goes right through the opening. bottom part should be solid like i'm going to have to do to this one.
we bought this crate for our puppy in the size xl, there is a huge gap between the door and the crate. when she even moves a little at night it sounds like an earthquake just hit and the only thing you can hear is metal rattling… all. night. long.the plastic door handle is also cheap, loose and rattles loudly too.i use dog leash clips to secure it and close the gap so the door can’t whack the crate… that helps keep the noise down tremendously!
we have another foldable, 2 door crate from another brand that we like very much. i was hoping this would be of similar quality since this one was actually more expensive. i was disappointed from the start. the metal feels thinner and less sturdy, and this was actually an issue when trying to set it up because the divider part had been jammed into the side, caught under one of the hooks and had a wire bent on it before i even began to set up the crate. i had to use a pair of pliers to pull on it to be able to release it from the other end of the crate. once the crate was assembled i realized the tray does not slide out of the bottom, which i would have prefered, but can be lifted out, which is not great if there was liquid on the tray. but my biggest issue was that it looked slightly smaller than our other crate. the description states this crate is 36x23x25. however when actually measured it is 35.5x22.5x24.75. half an inch here and there doesn't seem like much but it ends up being almost 1000 sq inches smaller in total size because of this. this crate is not a terrible one but there are other products for similar prices that are better quality.
i bought the biggest size because my puppy outgrew the 30” crate i had. he’ll be a big boy. it’s durable enough. i like the two door function.i would change the lock on it. i like that it catches in three places. but the locking mechanism is one you pull back and that pull is made of plastic. i hope that’s going to hold up.the other thing i was disappointed with is that the tray is made of plastic. my last crate had a metal tray and was used for 3 dogs so it was durable. i’m hoping the tray will hold up. my pup is fully potty trained so i don’t need the tray for that. but i have his cushioned bed in there on top of the tray. i like to keep the tray in place because it helps with cleaning the dog hair.all in all, a better lock and a metal tray would have given it 5 stars instead of 3.
item arrived via ups but the box arrived damaged and the crate is bent on the separator piece of the crate- at least we don’t need that piece 🤷♀️ also the locking clamp feels cheap. but we’re going to keep it and give it a try 🤷♀️
ours arrived with the bottom front support bent backwards at a 45 degree angle, preventing the front facing side from locking-in at the bottom and thus a warped/unstable frame. does not look like shipping damage because the bend was consistent on both sides. actually looks like a design defect. sent back and ordered another brand.
it's a good size kennel and has plenty of space for our 45 lb dog to move around. it's more like her own room than a bed. the corners however, don't match up all the way at the bottom of the front. if she leans on the sides her weight is enough to open the walls completely. i don't know if it's a defect in mine, or how all of them are made. it is so heavy that i won't be returning it. my mailman helped me get it in the house. it's not portable either, depending on how you define portable. a full size fridge is on wheels, but is it really portable? i feel like i wasted my money, and still need to get her a kennel= 1star.
we bought this for our german shephard who has been crate trained and fine in the past. however, our old steel crate did not have the plastic bottom anymore and we couldn't find a replacement (it was 20 years old). we bought this crate for him instead. our boy is a big baby when it come to thunderstorms, however, it was never an issue in the old crate. this crate didn't stand a chance. he became so panicked that he practically ripped the front door off in his attempt to get out. it took considerable effort to pry the door open when we got home to get him out. this crate is really poorly made with thin gauge wires that is not suitable to keep a large dog safe.
the cage arrived un damaged.. but during manufacturing of this one apparently the locking feature for one of the corners was overlooked.. i had to use zip ties.. other wise my pet could have pushed through the two sides.
i had high hopes for the cage but from the start i had issues. it came banged up, bars bent at the bottom and already chipping from where the metal crushed into itself. i chalked it up to poor shipping yet it doesn’t seem to be holding up well either. i bought this crate in 2 sizes and one has already been able to be pried open by my 15 lb dog. usually amazon basic products are great but this one just isn’t.
