i love this water bottle but the lid broke in the first two months. the button keeps popping off like the spring is too strong.owala did give me a $13 gift card to replace the lid but the lid for my color (boneyard) is not offered.
i really like the bottle it’s very comfortable . perfect use. exactly what i expected and even better. but-the color is not as was described.the color that i chose seemed like a bottle itself as in the color of white, but now that the order has arrived i can see that the color of the bottle is more like a mint- so that is a little bit disappointing. best to have a more accurate description of the colors.
the plastic button broke off the front of the bottle and the bottle is now unusable because it won’t close anymore. i’m passed the return window. for this price i’d expect to get more durability from this product.if i can return/replace the bottle i’ll take this review down.
i love this bottle! i bought it to make drinking water while breastfeeding easier. however i took away two stars because the bottle is quite heavy and i’m worried about the plastic flip top lid and the metal spring in the lid. they feel very cheap. the plastic push button just feels like it will break any moment. for such a big company, they could definitely make better parts.
first off, i got a different color than i ordered. it does not even stay cold for 8 hours. i named it stitch because it spits out water when i open it.
we have been wanting an owala, so when these went on sale, we got it! since it doesn’t have a drinking handle, it’s very wide. my daughter does not want to return it, so we will keep it. however, i would get a smaller ounce bottle next time.
i liked the idea of this water bottle. i took several washed to get rid of the smell and taste. the bottle slipped out of my hand and to cap broke instantly rendering it useless. disappointing waste of 40 bucks.disappointing customer service. i’ve had many water bottles over the years and surprised how easy this broke, this lasted 30 days and owala is fine with that
i bought the orange/green version of this bottle. i love the bottle's look and the fact that you can either chug or sip from an enclosed straw. i don't believe it can be removed. i tried pulling the straw out, but it felt as if i forced it too much, it would break. so, i believe it is permanent. the bottle is very colorful, pretty, and eye-catching. however, the steel is much thinner than i expected and the ice i had in my drink, even though i kept the opening closed while not drinking, melted in less than half a day. i have other brands of bottles that keep the ice for nearly 48 hours. also, even though it has a powder coating on the outside to keep it from gathering condensation, it doesn't have a really good grip so the bottle can slip easily in the hand. what bothered me the most, however, is that i'll often leave my bottle at my home office desk overnight with a little bit of water or soda in it. then, in the morning, i'll stumble into my office and take a drink while along with my daily medication. the morning after i got the bottle, i took that first morning drink and besides being warm, i could taste the plastic of the straw, and i had washed it before use. not good. i am disappointed in this bottle because the design looked like a winner, and i loved the color choices.
looks as pictured and works as expected, but be aware that it does not ship with any padding, just the thin plastic amazon bag - so the bottom was scratched and dented upon arrival. i had already ordered a silicone cover for the bottom, so am not going to bother returning, but it’s frustrating to have a new product that doesn’t look new.
i really wanted to like this color, but it's not what the photos show. it's definitely has mint green undertones. i traded for the gray one; hopefully the photos are accurate.
i thought i found the perfect owala as a purple lover. the body of this bottle is not a light purple as the picture suggests, it's a bright white.also, for some reason this particular bottle doesn't keep as cold as my daughter's owala (bought at whole foods) plots actually quite a noticeable difference.still to love the bottles in general.
not sure why the hype around this water bottle. definitely cheaper quality overall than the competition. mainly, the straw does not stay in the lid so constantly having to take the top of and replace it which is super annoying. haven’t had this issue once with other popular brand that starts with an s.
i had the bottle for 3 months and the button keeps popping off the lid. contacted owala and they gave me $13 of credit to buy a new lid. my bottle color lid is no longer available (after 3 months?) but ok i can somewhat understand this. i follow the link they sent me and 16 of the 18 bottle lids are out of stock. i can get all black or all white. forget about trying to match the color scheme of the bottle i bought. i asked for a total new bottle so i can have a matching color scheme and they basically kept repeating the limited warranty only covers a lid. i asked to be escalated to the next level up to push my case and they stopped responding altogether.
the bottle is light so it won’t be too heavy when you put water in it. but mine came with a stain on the green rubbery part of the bootle i got the white one with light green and blue.
i love the features of this water bottle, although it doesn’t fully click open every time over time. my main complaint though, is that the body of the “dreamy field” color is white. the color portrayal makes it look more pink/purple.
the owala is 3.24 diameter, most bike bottle cages are 2.875 (wikipedia). given that cycling is a major use of such bottles, would have been good to mention that this bottle is too chubby to fit. added after a month of use: this bottle also does not fit into the cupholders in my car. it binds up halfway down, becoming both unstable and hard to remove. great for non-fitted use, but for bike cages, cup holders, etc, look elsewhere.
