frames are definitely the weakest part. the cheap plastic will break with normal usage. usually near the nose pads. whatever plastic these are made of they cannot be easily and consistently glued back together.if i had to reorder some glasses i would be looking for metal frame one.going to go to the dollar store and pick up metal frame glasses in the am.
i wanted the sunglasses the other pairs were a bonus. i need spare glasses in almost every room of the house. i'd say these are for men not women. very generic. they slide down my nose the frame is not large enough to look right on my face. however, i'll add some silicone nose sponge things and use them in the workshop. other reviewers were men. now i understand why.positive: they do stretch out and seem very well made. just not right on my face.
i have been ordering these glasses for years, and are generally very pleased. the last order, the frames have been noticeably cheapened. to save on material, they volume and density of the frame has been reduced, lightened, and they break more easily. i won’t be ordering again
be careful when your glasses fall to the ground. because the frame is made of plastic, it's not sturdy. twice my eyes fell on the wooden floor and two glasses were broken.
i use these for working out in my shop, so they get some scratches on the lenses easily. i don't think they have any coating on them. i always have a soft clean cloth in my pocket to clean them when needed. they are comfortable and can be worn for hours since they have spring hinges.the last set that i bought seemed to have a black coating on the plastic bows. after a few hours of using them the coating started to peel off and stick behind my ears.but for my needs, these are cheap and work well. i have better reading glasses when i am in the house.
these glasses are a were a good value, but my last set did not even last a few months. all of my glasses have unexpectedly cracked near the nose bridge. the upper frame corner near the nose cracks and separates, apparently because the plastic rim is just a little too thin. these glasses need to last more than a couple months to be worth while.otherwise these glasses a attractive, light weight and do the job to make reading easier.
you’re better off spending nine dollars on a pair at the grocery store. or getting them at the dollar store. or try big lots. these are so cheaply made the ears come loose or break constantly. you spend more time repairing them, then wearing them. the more you repair them the more they keep falling apart coming undone and then eventually breaking.
although these are affordable they are not very durable. the plastic breaks at the joint above the nose. typical wear time before a break is about 45 days. going to look for a better product, i'm hoping there's something out there that is more durable yet still affordable.
the magnification is inconsistent throughout lens...images and words bend unless you look through the exact same spot. but then again, this is what you expect from mass produced chinese plastic. i will be throwing these in the trash. better off going to walmart or walgreens and trying on single pairs.
cheap or not, these things have a design flaw that makes them break in the same place time after time. the bottom left corner of the right eye piece cracks and the lens falls out. of the last 10 pairs, four have ended up this way. and i do not habitually hold the glasses at that point. it would be a very strange way to handle them if i did.
