i would have expected much better for an expensive strip. they started off wonderful and easily configurable! but after less than a year, this strip started appearing as a different hue blue. 2 months later, it seems the blue leds on this segment are shot. the strip is setup to be all blue in the app. pretty disappointed.
maybe i got the bad piece you can see in the pictures and the video the light get dim after around 30ft and at the end it gets dimmer. so i got 3 diff colors in a one solid color function. and its flickering to 🥲
i tried to cut off some of the led strip off at the dotted golden part, but the strip before started changing colors so i had to cut that part too. also some parts of the strip slightly blink and are different shades.
i'm a huge fan of govee products, but these lights are trash!!!! i had to have them replaced due to bad manufacturing...now, my new replacement only worked for about a month. only lights up red now.
the lights looks great except for the last 10 feet - the white lights look yellow. it’s too late take up all of the lights - it was a huge job laying out all of the tape strips, especially since the adhesive is firmly stuck to all of the boards i just painted black. i even plugged in the lights ahead of time as per the instructions. while i didn’t notice any deference, but then again, this section of lights was towards the end. the other colors are a bit off, but not as much as the white ones, which i use most often.unfortunately, i had to take off 2 stars because of all of the work that went into this job. otherwise, i would have given these lights 5 stars!
i installed them on the back side of of 2' x 6' ceiling cloud in a recording studio. i don't see the lights directly, just the glow of them on the ceiling. the ceiling is painted dark, and these lights barely illuminate. with a white ceiling they would likely be more effective. everything else about them is great.
installing it was super easy, and the adhesive really works to keep it up. but after 2 days the white setting turned to a more yellowish color.i might buy again from this seller, but for now, no way.
was going to add a photo, but no, it's not even worth the hassle. govee's quality has seriously slipped. these lights were screwed out of the box day one! looking for quality led accent lighting? yeah, look elsewhere. not only are the blue l.e.d.s screwed day one, but if you buy anything other than the 30' package, there are not only less l.e.d's per foot but the thickness of the strips are less. that's for more money! avoid govee, they are serious trash now.
i began by plugging the lights in and testing them. they all worked.. while applying them there was a suddenly a small amount of smoke and a burning smell. the lights remained on but when i attempted to change color/ only half of them would change. i turned them off but when i turned back on only part of the strip would light up.
they are not laid out from beggining to end. the power cord is in the middle, and feeds two separate 50ft rolls outward. you can not cut and splice to make it work. immediately ruins what you cut off. very little value in my opinion because there's no way to make it work in my double tray ceiling.
buyer beware: these lights flash red, green, blue then go to the previous color every time power is removed and reapplied to the controller.i have them on a light switch for a ceiling light in the kitchen and it looks bad the way they flicker through rgb colors then go to my set color every time the lights are switched on.govee support says this is a function of the device and there is no way to change it.i would not have purchased and installed these if i knew they did this color pattern every time i hit the wall power switch but there is no advertisement about this.
after spending hours installing these in my cove molding, half of the strand isn’t working, multiple bulbs are out. they are so cheap and flimsy. i am so disappointed, especially after doing all of this work. i would never buy these lights again.
i bought 3 of these. so far 2 of the 3 stopped working. i tried support first, and it took over a month for someone to respond to my issue and all they said in the response was to try and reset it. the colors are also way off. not worth the money.
random sections of the light strip have started to burn out after only a few months (right after the return period ended). they either stick on a color, in my case blue, when the rest of the strip is off, or don't light at all. had i known these would die so quickly, i would never have stuck them to the wall in my child's room, as the 3m sticky tape ripped all the paint off.
i like the lights, however they came faulty and damaged, unfortunately i didn't realize until i installed the product (over 100ft). i made for certain it wasnt a user error, just a faulty connection which causes certain parts of the strip to not be able to produce a true blue color. i talked to a representative and my only options are either, ripping them up, shipping them back or buying them again, which, by the way $50 is pretty expensive, (they said they would fully refund the purchase however, with amazon it takes 2-7 days) and i only had the money to buy these because i used money from my birthday.trust me, you’d definitely do better to buy meevt, vivitar, or onn. don’t get govee unless you can buy what you want twice.
they worked for 4 months but then broke. they also have lots of places on the led lights that were different colors than the color setting, but they worked well for a while
