i've purchased many anchor chargers over the years and have always been very satisfied, but this one does not seem to like charging my apple watch using the usb-a port. it appears to have been documented, but when you buy a three port charger, you expect all three ports to deliver power. when i put my watch on charger and it doesn't just charge its a failure in design.
the design of the product requires it to stick straight out of a wall socket when in use. it is so heavy, that it falls out. now, there are some dockets tight enough to hold the charger, but they’re few and far between. eight out of ten times it falls out. useless for airports, conferences, or. anywhere you need a reliable charge. ankar te ignited the problem and included a “suction cup” attachment. comically useless. it failed me again in an airport, today. i resurrected my order and wrote this. avoid, avoid, avoid.
happy with anker products but this one has been frustrating. easily falls out of wall outlet due to heavy weight and rectangular design. works well but, wouldn’t purchase this item again.
i have had several anker products and have been happy with everyone except this one. might be a defective outlier or might be a bad design. havnt read into this product but wanted to share my experience with it.
i bought this charger before and they have a rubber piece which helps it stay on to the wall that was not sent with this one. its so long when you plug it in the plugs backs out and its not charging. the new version is a terrible design.
this charger is powerful and solid, like other anker chargers i have purchased over the years. but it is a poor design for many travel situations. the basic problem is that it is a heavy unit with the prongs at one end, so excessive leverage can cause the charger to unplug when there is not a tight fit with the outlet. anker appears to recognize this with an included stabilizing collar, but the collar can be awkward and/or useless in situations like plane and train seat power. and the collar is useless when the charger is paired with international prong adaptors.
poor design too heavy not stay in outlet, even holder sent to correct not good design extremely heavy will not stay in outlet, even holder sent to correct not good design
i travel a lot for work and use lots of wall charger’s at hotels. typically love anker but this one has a huge design flaw. it’s so heavy and awkwardly built that it can’t stay in outlets. it will slowly fall out of the outlet under its own weight. have already woken up to an almost dead phone battery and have side lined the charge unfortunately. you can also forget about using it on an airline, won’t stay on most airline outlets for more than a second.but when you use a banana to keep it propped up, it works flawlessly.
this charger is very nice; both in appearance and feel. it does have a couple of design defects though. first, the folding prongs are convenient for travel, but like many chargers with folding prongs they hinge from the vertical center rather than approximately 1/3 from the top. this causes the charger to block the ground of vertically adjacent outlets on typical power strips and rub the wall on a mounted surge protector like apc's p6w. second, the usb a port is upside down; a small thing but a nuisance.
i like how fast and efficient this charger is. however the design of a long shape and a “foldable” plug makes it very hard to stay in an outlet. i find that the weight of macbook charger, iphone and usb weigh down the block and it always falls out. this happens to me very often with different outlets. i keep having to replug the block in over and over since it keeps falling out due to its weight and size
as the title says, this is slower to charge my watch and or phone than my cheap 30w charger i got from costco about 2 years ago. the difference is that this one can charge more than one thing at a time, which is convenient. the thing that prompted me to write this review is how frustrating it is to stay in the outlet. if you even walk by to quickly, it falls out of the wall. i've even tried to bend the prongs and if i get them to a point where it stays in the outlet, it won't charge so i have to bend them back. the only reason i gave it two stars is because i can charge more than 1 thing at a time, albeit slower than a 30w charger, even with just 1 item charging at a time. i expected more from anker.
i've had this charging block for almost a year and really wanted to like it. however i regret not returning it when i was able to , especially since it is not that cheap for this type charger.the design of this is just terrible. it is way too long and heavy to stay plugged into an outlet that is on a wall. perhaps is is better suited for a power strip laying on the floor or table, but i never used it with a power strip. it constantly fights gravity and works itself to where i find it unsafe when the prongs are showing too much or it doesn't make good contact being unplugged too much.the usb-c and a ports are similar such that they don't have a great seat for the cables plugged in and i often find my devices not charged. even when they are plugged in tight i need to unplug and re-plug to make a better contact.for travel this this just doesn't work. most hotel outlets are so worn they are no longer tight and this things just keeps falling out again because of the design.i really like anker products and they are my go-to if i need to replace a basic 20w charger, portable battery pack, car charger...etc.. i was really hoping this would be a solid product but the design and reliability fell way short. i do not recommend this product and i am still a huge fan of anker and continue to choose there products if given a choice.
ordered this to use for my laptop and new pixel 7. it worked great for the few days i had it, charging fine. it would get warm to the touch at times. then after a few days it stopped working while charging my laptop and i saw that there was a small bump in the plastic near the prongs. i got my replacement through amazon and it's working fine so far. however i noticed that there are 2 versions of this charger. this model is the first iteration called the a2667. there is a newer version of this charger called the a2668 that includes better thermal management/protection, and better power output management. i will be returning this replacement as well and buy the newer version as it is similarly priced with better features.
with less used outlets that hold it in tight, it works great! excellent charging speed and small footprint.i bought this for traveling and unfortunately outlets in hotels and on airplanes and most places i go have well-used outlets, and the weight of the charger pulls it right out of the wall. i’ve had to improvise with an extension cable which defeats the ease of travel bit.
because the prongs are small this item does not stay in the outlet very well. their solution is to provide a rubber suction cup “gasket” with it.that would be fine if every plate was flat like it is at home however, my hotel rooms and on my cruise ship it has not been the case. very poor design.
this is an incredibly poorly designed charger. the weight is such that it *will not* stay in most wall outlets – there's a reason the pictures all show this facing down. and if you use it with a travel adapter, there's no hope at all. buy a charger with a better design (ideally a plug with a wire.)note also that the warranty is 18 months for a reason: that's roughly the expected lifetime of the charger. mine promptly died 18 months after i bought it, and customer service said there's nothing they can do.very disappointing.
i travel for work so having something compact is great - at first this was perfect; however, my feelings toward it have changed. i have had two of these and they both went bad. the first one had the middle port stop working after about a year. the second one may be a fire hazard. the prongs 'lean' towards the center and i have to remember that i can't flick the right prong up because it will flip up and leave the left prong behind. today i noticed what looks like burn marks on the metal. needless to say, i will not be using using this again.
