this is case #2 i've tried for my new macbook air 15. it's better than the first one i tried, but this is still not a perfect fit. i am keeping it, though, until something better comes along.along the long side, the case fits the mba 15 well; i'd prefer something a bit snugger, but that's just personal preference.along the short side, though, it's too big. there' s a good half inch of space for the mba 15 to jostle around. that is, the cavity is too big by about a half inch on the short side.thickness-wise it's too big as well. the mba 15 flops from top to bottom in the case.the case is therefore just good enough; it'll do right now.quality wise the case is good but not spectacular. the zipper is supposedly a ykk zipper, but i find it not being as smooth a motion as other ykk zippered things i have.
i purchased this laptop case to protect my new 16-inch macbook pro, but i think this case is just ok. while it fits well and offers decent protection with its cushioning, it's much bulkier than i expected, making it less portable. the yellow color is also not accurately represented in the product images - it's more of an ugly beige (think: your dad's worn-out kahki pants). the case does have a pocket, which is a plus and why i originally purchased this. overall, i wouldn't recommend this case to others, despite its decent quality. i'm giving it 3 stars for its protective features, but the bulkiness, color, and design are major drawbacks.if i had a smaller laptop and purchased a different color, i might feel differently.
i am a longtime tomtoc fan but this item is being sold under false pretenses. it is not for the 14-inch macbook pro. this is the defender a13 which is for the 13 macbook air. when you try to zip it up, you will see that there is very little room and the zippers will most likely scratch your machine. i returned mine.
i really loved this case because the mba m2 fits perfectly, but after of six month a lot of stains appeared thanks to the case interior design. there’s no way you can get rid of them!!! don’t buy this case if you want to keep your mac stains free!!!!!update: tomtoc reached me out to apologize about the stains thanks to their case. sadly there’s nothing to do because it’s aluminum and the stains are going to remain there forever. they offered me a new free case with the new design without the circle pattern and i accepted it. i hope this new design doesn’t leave any mark on the mac. adding one more star because the service was good, but i cannot add more because the damage is done and permanent.
after using it a couple of times, the design inside remained on my new laptop. i am not sure what material they used but be careful when buying this. it was not even water damaged or anything so the only explanation is the cheap material used.
i liked this case initially, but after a few months of using it, there are a few flaws. however, this thing does protect, so that's good - honestly, that's good; there are insufficient cases that look good and do not protect.it looks okay - not a fan of the branding, but it's not gaudy (spelling?)flaws -1) the bubble wrap half egg-shaped material inside the case protects your laptop and leaves a weird print on your computer. every time i take my mba out of the case, i have to wipe it down with an alcohol swab, so it doesn't have bubbles from the egg-shaped material.2) the egg-shaped material gets grabby with any debris in the pocket. it leaves egg-shaped markings all over your laptop. it will also press any debris in the bag next to your macbook, which will scratch the aluminum.... as i said, it protects, but not from itself.next time i'll get another incase. i guess there is a reason to pay $20-$30 more.
the product seems high quality, but has a fatal design flaw... it doesn't protect corners like it implies. the bottom thick edge seems tough, but the laptop (2022 apple macbook pro 16 m1) easily slips overtop the protective edge since there is a lot of play in the case, not a super tight fit.
a couple of things to mention:1) the color is a very dull light gray - not a blue like the photo. it looks dirty and, to me, is not a nice color. so, i wanted to do an exchange:2) this is sold on amazon but is not an amazon return.3) you will wait for 6 weeks to be refunded in case you want to exchange this item.i don't usually return anything on amazon but, when i do, i am used to an immediate refund upon returning it to a drop off location.please note - i dropped this off the day i received it. i have been following the return. they are keeping my funds for 6 weeks. so, in case you have a return or an exchange, i would not recommend purchasing this item.
this seems like a decent sleeve, though nothing special. i was hoping for a snug and protective fit, but unfortunately it is too large for my 13 macbook a1708 (one of this listed models for this sleeve) - it's over an inch too wide on the inside, and probably half an inch too long, so my laptop slips and slides in it. the light blue is also a *very* light blue-grey, barely blue at all. i'll be returning.
i bought this for the m2 macbook air. from the pictures i thought it was more of a sleeve but it's actually a deep padded case. imagine taking 3 macbook airs and stacking them on top of each other, that's about how big this case is. it added a lot of space to my svelte computer. you'd think with all that padding and space, the power brick and cables would slide into that front pocket and melt into the case but you'd be wrong. i'm using the smaller 2-port 35w charger from apple and it juts out inside that front pocket.the zippers aren't as smooth as what i would expect from ykk zippers. the material on the outside is a rough nylon that does feel like it'd hold up against the elements. as a case that you might throw into a cavernous backpack like a chrome bag or something, i think this extremely padded case might work for some people. it's just a lot bigger than i was expecting.
the case is pretty small, quality seems cheap, the macbook m1 max itself can barely fit in the case, but the worst part is that the charger can't be stored with the macbook. the m1 max chargers are large, and doesn't fit in this case (as you would have thought by looking at the product images).
the padding is great on the sleeve, i am not concerned about the durability of the product. it does add quite a bit of size to the macbook though, and it may not feel as portable for traveling. unfortunately i cannot recommend this sleeve due to the inconsistency in the color of the case. the color seems to be fading already and i just got the sleeve today.
fits the rog zephyrus m16 like a glove. unfortunately that doesn't leave a ton of room for accessories, to the point that putting the ac adapter in the accessories pouch was a tight fit. it certainly didn't give me much confidence in adding other things to the pouch, not without mashing them. all that extra padding also increased the thickness of the thing, unfortuantely.while i like the styling the tightness of it caused me to pick a slimmer case, the mosiso laptop sleeve (https://www.amazon.com/dp/b07md5mzmd?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsth=1). it has less padding and a roomier fit.
the overall quality of this laptop sleeve/case does appear high.it has some water resistance--some as in if it gets splattered the water beads up on top giving you a chance to wipe it off.the feel of the material is poor; not luxurious at all. very rough, like a typical backpack.stitching seems strong, though only single-stitched.really the construction overall is quite good; the interior padding is a bit inconsistent, however. it feels like it has good padding on the top, bottom, and three sides, but the back of the case where the rear laptop hinge would abut has less padding than you might think (see photo). it is also exposed to that rough, backpack-like texture of the exterior based on how they sewed the pouch together. this causes me some concern about scuffs on the macbook pro's aluminum case due to friction of the computer moving slightly within the bag during transport. after spending over $3,000 on a laptop, i'm the type that prefers to keep it in pristine physical condition as long as possible and i just wonder if i should have spent a bit more money to get a better case to transport it...
first of all, i think this sleeve does everything it says it does, and incredibly well. it will definitely protect your laptop. and the extra mini-pouch on the side is perfect for carrying items like your phone or charging cable.but i noticed a major design flaw after a couple months of use. the little bubbles inside the sleeve that protect my laptop have started leaving an imprint on my laptop. it may be tough to see in the photo above, but my 2018 macbook air now has these bubble imprints that do not come off no matter how hard i try to wipe them off. it really blows. unfortunately, because of this, i'll need to find another sleeve that doesn't leave these marks on my laptop.
the case provides a decent level of protection for your macbook, but it only has great support at the bottom, not at from all sides. the material indide is very hard and i was afraid it will scratch my laptop. outside of case is also very hard, cheap feeling material. getting the macbook in and out of the case is not very simple. case is very thick and heavy, not good looking.
