the photo is misleading because it gives an impression that the exterior is made of solid plastic. it is a flexible weird fabric that additionally carries a very pungent chemical odor indicating the use of carcinogenic dyes and materials.
material is kind of like a suitcase. at first i thought it looked cheap, but later thought it looked ok. biggest problem is, contrary to other reviewers, it does not have storage for my charger or even my slimline mouse. they'll sorta fit, but make the case lumpy and they push pretty hard against my very slim laptop. for the size of this thing, i expected to at least be able to hold my fairly small charger.
all in all it is good for protecting a laptop, though i doubt the case will last very long. it's not really a hard outer shell, but some sort of soft material that retains dings and dents. the zippers are nothing special but are adequate, and it does take up much less room than one of those hard-shelled attache cases. i would be much more pleased with it for about half the price since $30 just seems much too high for what you get, but it does fill a niche that i can't find an alternative for so i'm keeping it. a solid c+.
this case has a very cheap feel to it. the first time i zipped it, i almost broke the zipper. i had to send this back because there was a defect with the zipper teeth.
they didn't think this out very well. it's way too small to hold a 17.3 laptop with the charger. who travels with a laptop and no charger? surely the battery can't last that long. very poor design.
i am considering returning this case.there is a metal zipper that will rub directly on the top of my laptop.the laptop i am trying to protect is a $2500 hp that is owned by my company.i have another for my 13 laptop and it does not not have this zipper.
just bought a refurbished dell precision m6800 i7-4 from microcenter and wanted a laptop case. i prefer the thin minimalist type. oh boy is this a minimalist case!although it looks cool, i really don't trust anything about the design. i don't like the lack of padding, the zipper, the handle or the interior pocket. the laptop fits in here and nothing else save a few sheets of paper no exaggeration no kidding around.there is no way on earth the cord and power supply that came with the laptop will fit in the case. seriously, i don't even think i can fit a pen in the bag.i'm keeping it for now as something to put the laptop in for transport, but i have no illusions about its actually protecting my laptop much or lasting very long. this 17.3 inch laptop is heavy, like its crazy heavy. i wanted certain features for work and the price was right but wow. the handle doesn't quite seem up to the task and either does the zipper which is the only think keeping the laptop inside the case.i will probably dig out my old school laptop briefcase from back in the day or buy a new one if this heavy laptop won't fit. i think if you are desperate to have a cool looking no frills case and have no intention of fitting the cord and power supply in it, then this is the case for you. other reviews did mention this and i thought it was an exaggeration but it isn't.3 stars is generous, and the only reason i am giving it 3 stars is i did read all the reviews and bought it anyway so some of this is on me. hope this helps.
first impressions i thought this device would be great before purchase. i saw tons of great reviews so i didn't think anything of it. i love the sleeves inside and the accessory holders. my only problem with this product is it offers very little protection kind of like weak plastic. i'll prolly keep this for the office as you can keep paperwork and stuff but i wouldnt trust my laptop in this very fragile plastic and take the chance of my laptop getting damaged.
i bought this case because of the reviews but when i received the actual product. it’s thin, and i’m able to bend it. i thought it was gonna be a thick hard rubber case.it’s really nice though. plenty of storage.i’m gonna try it. see how it works and i’ll do an update.
you can press on it with your finger and bend it in. it doesn't seem to offer much in the way of rigidity. it might be good for water resistance. but i wouldn't use it for the intended purpose of accidental dent prevention. if i could find one just like this, but make with an extra ounce of plastic, perhaps a half mm more thickness, then it would be worth using. this one will probably go slide into the trash can when i find a better one on amazon.
