this is one of govee's least expensive products, and it shows. i have 4 strips in various applications: under kitchen cabinets, around acoustic panels in a studio, and behind an entertainment center. two of the 4 strips blew transformers within 6 months of purchase.govee would not stand behind their warranty in either of these cases, despite their reputation and my experience of them usually being impeccable on warranty issues. they just refuse to stand behind this specific product.i've had great luck with govee, so don't let these lights scare you away from the brand. but it's a low-quality, low-priced product designed as a gateway drug into the world of lighting effects, and it's effective at that. just don't expect these lights to last long....go with the coated strips right off the bat and save the dollars and hassle.
so i got the t2 then the 2 50ft rolls both came messed up the company did replace very quick but man it's a headache once u have them up and just a couple don't work but i think it was on the shipping end as boxes were very damaged all and all the lights are great and bright and they stick very well too wall or cealing i'd do it again if i had to can't help shipping
was going to add a photo, but no, it's not even worth the hassle. govee's quality has seriously slipped. these lights were screwed out of the box day one! looking for quality led accent lighting? yeah, look elsewhere. not only are the blue l.e.d.s screwed day one, but if you buy anything other than the 30' package, there are not only less l.e.d's per foot but the thickness of the strips are less. that's for more money! avoid govee, they are serious trash now.
these were recommended they look very nice, however the second roll of 50ft, we plugged it less than half way to see how they looked and they did not turn on at all, that was very disappointing. calling to see how this situation can be fixed.
update: customer service was amazing and they are sending me a replacement.i am still a believer in their products.i have a few govee products and i love them. these lights went out after a month though. totally disappointed. setup was easy and features were great but i am super disappointed that i spent a good chunk of money on them for them to only last a month.
bought this for my son’s desk. installed per instructions. lights were great while it lasted. controller suddenly stopped working. tried to reset it. contacted customer service and they still haven’t replied. unit was less than 6 months old when it died. never buying govee again. ever.
i like the lights, however they came faulty and damaged, unfortunately i didn't realize until i installed the product (over 100ft). i made for certain it wasnt a user error, just a faulty connection which causes certain parts of the strip to not be able to produce a true blue color. i talked to a representative and my only options are either, ripping them up, shipping them back or buying them again, which, by the way $50 is pretty expensive, (they said they would fully refund the purchase however, with amazon it takes 2-7 days) and i only had the money to buy these because i used money from my birthday.trust me, you’d definitely do better to buy meevt, vivitar, or onn. don’t get govee unless you can buy what you want twice.
i was a little thrown off when i opened up this package to see the box stating that it was a rbgic basic light set. when looking at the pictures of the stock photo of the product the space between the govee and leds and the size of the leds seem to be much different then the actual. i included a comparison photo between the two.the brightness of these lights also seems a bit weaker then other sets purchased. in darkness i feel my 32ft rgb light strip would put off more light than this 64 ft one. i do really like the that this strip is rgb ic which is why i upgraded but i think i'm going to return this light set and try another one.
these lights worked great out of the box. its been about 2 weeks installed on the house and already they are coming off, not to mention, there are now 2 sections about 30 inches or so that do not work. i would like to return them but i have to hire someone again because they are up high on rooflinenote. i ordered these on november 17th and had them installed on december 4th. noticed rhe issue right away and reported it to the company and i just heard back on february 8th. it took them almost three months to reply to the issue. i am past the return date. would not recommend!
after two days of installing lights exactly like my son wanted when we turned them on there’s about 3 feet of lights that don’t work at all. this was a huge disappointment. my son wanted these for his bday. the look on his face when they didn’t work properly was upsetting. we tried all of the troubleshooting steps we found but nothing worked. i’ve reached out to govee customer service but haven’t gotten a response yet. unfortunately i’d have to go with another brand next time because of these issues.
the listing doesn’t properly describe the item being sent. i received rgbic “basic” which doesn’t state that in the discrimination. basic is cheap cheap flimsy set less leds compared to other sets i have purchased in past. vary deceiving. govee!!also have contact there customer service with no response sending multiple emails about this product with basic questions.
i bought this for my grandson for christmas 2022. cannot make comment on this because i will not give it to him until christmas. i am undecided if i should try it now to see if it works because of someone's comment on these reviews. hope warranty will not start until i give it to him. please advise. cannot give a rating now.
i have purchased govee led lights before and they have proven to be a good product but, what i learned recently is the company is jot a good company.within the warranty period i had three separate strips of lighting go out on me. some half out and others completely out. i reached out to amazon, they got me in touch with the manufacturer and they put me through so many hoops then in the end would not warranty them because i wouldn’t send them a video of the lights. i sent on, but what is there to see when they don’t turn on?so i won’t be purchasing govee anymore and to-date i have purchased about 25 strands, someone else will get the money.
i was excited to receive this light strip given the favorable reviews. i first installed an aluminum led channel around the perimeter of the room with a diffuser. i then picked a mid-point and installed the two strips accordingly. easy enough.the lights worked well for approximately two weeks and then random 6-light sections would light up and stay on. i tried everything possible to address the issue, including contacting the company directly. i ended up doing a replacement order with amazon, after sending a video and attaching pictures to govee. i then had to remove the lights from the channel which took over an hour and reinstall the new lights, which took two hours.not even four days later: same problem. after two hours on the phone with customer service i explained how tedious the installation was and how, even if i returned the lights, i’d be stuck with an led channel that was not only useless, but permanently installed in my ceiling. taking down 65 feet of stuck on light strips was also no easy task once, let alone twice. amazon ended up saying i could just discard the strips and channel at my convenience because of the situation but the time it took to install and uninstall everything and the damage to my walls was terribly inconvenient and frankly, annoying.there’s no reason for two light strips to fail so spectacularly in a row and for it to be so unbelievably challenging to get govee to help or take responsibility. despite the many rave reviews on amazon, further research online reveals a history of repeated device failures and the company’s lack of response.beyond disappointed with quality, craftsmanship and the customer service i received.
delivered 3/23/23 and installed the next day. 3/15/23, already not working correctly anymore. one segment stays blue 24/7 no matter what we do other than completely unplug the strip. on other color settings it blends the blue in. i expected a lot better at this price point. at least the other cheaper ones i had before lasted a year before going bad.won't buy this brand again unless someone can fix them. junk!
