my child needs headphones for use at school. usually, wired over-the-head traditional headphones last over 1 school year. this year, my child has already gone through 2 sets of headphones. these seemed great but broke within 1 week of light use at school! the cushion that goes over the ear disconnected from the band. these are now unwearable/ unusable. i was going to file a claim since it is well within the 90-day manufacturer's warranty timeline, but unfortunately, sony states that physical damage (broken/ missing parts) does not qualify for warranty.
i purchased these in feb of 2024 for my son to use one day a week in school. they stay in the classroom and are not transported back and forth. the teacher sent these home today and stated the ear pieces have broken and come apart. these were well taken care of and not dropped. i contacted sony support upset that these lasted less than 3 months and they told me they are out of warranty and there is no other support to provide. i thought sony products were meant to last more than 3 months but i guess i was wrong.
bought three pair in january 2023 for my kids and by mid march one of them was not working. the wire frayed near the plug, causing a short, which made the headphones unusable. this was normal wear and tear from a kid and her laptop. sony said they don't warranty against normal wear and tear, even for a product used less than two months.these are cheap for a reason and sony doesn't stand behind them. they offered to let me pay to repair an $18 pair of headphones. that's absurd. no thanks. i'll look elsewhere next time.the other two pair that work, they're fine. sound is good, mic is good, but i can't say how long they'll last.
bought these may 7 and right side earphone quit working july 3rd. not such a hot track record. this is second pair i purchased. not very happy. when they work they are great.
i gambled on a cheap headphone, just a little upset sony didnt back their product when i calledall they said was send to their ny location, the cost of the headphones was less than the cost to send them to ny
normal wear and tear but jack snapped today. purchased early may. chatted with a sony rep only to be told it’s not covered under warranty. disappointed in their support.
we bought it 3 months ago for our kids. the product is very flaky, and now the metal connector is broken. contact the customer service for warranty, but physical damage is not covered. the worst part is that they ask us to go to the only service store in us (in new york) for the out of warranty repair.10 dollar for 3 months of bad product is not worthy the price.
terrible, cheap product!! broke after three months use and sony would not replace. stated warranty was voided even though their product was faulty and fell apart. customer service was awful. will never purchase from sony again. beware!!! don’t buy!!
i purchased the headphones for my daughter to use at school. did not need anything too high tech. they stopped working after a few months of use. on follow up with sony we were told it is outside of the warranty period. compared to other headphones we have purchased over the years this set did not last. much better options out there.
