bought this less than a year ago. i actually bought 2. my other is fine -- for now. this one, i used it probably a few times over a few months. i had this on the tv in our bedroom so it's not watched regularly. after not watching it for a few months i go to use it, and it goes through an endless cycle of having to restart it then it turns itself off. researched the issue online, and others have had the same issue. the stick is basically a goner because nobody has been able to fix it.i reach out to roku support and after explaining what's going on, the person tells me they will look into it while i wait on hold. after 5 minutes they disconnect me. i reach out to another person and they are able to review the previous discussion i had with the other rep. they only offer the same advice as what i had already tried which was restarting it as it would not turn on. after me doing this a few times, the roku restarting, getting the load screen, then shutting off, i request a new roku as it's under warranty and i state that i will pay for the shipping myself as they do not. i was told i was going to get an email with the shipping label. it was never sent to me. i will never buy another roku again. they do not care about their customers from the experience i had and they use some overseas call center that is no help.
i ordered this device about a month ago and i haven’t got it yes and the shipping dates keep changing and dealing, i ordered the fire stick and i got it on same day which has more quality and better service and price, if you care about quality service and better device, then don’t waste your money on time on this device and from this location.
brand new stick and remote purchased as a package.like many customers, device would not pair with the remote.device defective out of the box.contacted roku support, nothing helpful beyondwhat is already in the support pages.returned for refund.
worked fine at start, but stopped working in just over a month. i wouldn't trust buying from amazon. box wasn't in best shape and was probably a refurbish.
we don't use it often. this is in an office. after 6 months, it stopped connecting. the tv says no signal roku check if source device is connected. the company is replacing it, but i have to pay return shipping to ship old unit back. booo.
bought a new device but the package had obviously been opened before as the box was torn and the tape had been reapplied. can’t find chat in customer service page to resolve. item seems to work fine but i’m not happy about paying full price for a refurbished device. if you are stuck choosing between a stick or a module that plugs in via html, note that your tv remote won’t work at all with the stick, nor will the roku app. the module is capable of working with both.
... if you have an older tv - even a 'smart' one. there are at least five ports on the back of our samsung (which is about 10 years old.) the fitting on the stick doesn't fit into any of them. so now, we had to order an extender from roku, which will take at least 3-5 days to ship. that means a week in real life.why don't they just put the dern extender in with the device, knowing how many people are ordering these things to work with older tvs? we all know the answer... they are too cheap to worry about customers' convenience satisfaction.stay tuned. i'll update once it arrives.
i used to like roku, but this is the second, and last time i buy their product.stick was dead on arrival, now to go through the process of refunding this.
trusted roku for the longest time, however, when i ordered this stick, last nov 21, it got delayed numerous time and the next update was delivered on dec 7 , update: item received dec 24 , thanks
i ordered a replacement unit as i am not able to find roku channel nor hulu nor anmazon prime .i have watched some of the u tube video s on my computer but i have no search statement and i could not find store . i will keep trying but feel tha the pictures on the box gives a false impression that hulu and prime and roku channel are preloaded . how do i get them added??/
