bought this in september 2024 and destroyed by october 2024 my dog has been escaping and destroying it just with his teeth it is not the strong and has been easily escaped every time i leave the house to the point today the cage collapsed in on him while he got out very bad buy especially for 80 dollars
so i can't lift the crate up because the metal on one side has been fused together so there's no opening it up so upset this cost so much been waiting so long now i have to return it wait for my money back than order another not happy with this at all
i struggled with the clips that hold it closed when it came to setting it up, i never really figured out how to do it, it just kind of came apart so unfortunately there was no trick. it does feel super well built, though!update:do not buy this crate for a dog with any kind of anxiety. my 50lb dog managed to claw through and bend the front frame of this door in the matter of 15 minutes. his first 15 minutes in his crate alone and all of a sudden i'm out 90 dollars.
cage is well made, however the mechanism to open the door failed within a month. without the positive pressure, my dog can get out….making item worthless, unless i tie or secure by secondary means.
we have another foldable, 2 door crate from another brand that we like very much. i was hoping this would be of similar quality since this one was actually more expensive. i was disappointed from the start. the metal feels thinner and less sturdy, and this was actually an issue when trying to set it up because the divider part had been jammed into the side, caught under one of the hooks and had a wire bent on it before i even began to set up the crate. i had to use a pair of pliers to pull on it to be able to release it from the other end of the crate. once the crate was assembled i realized the tray does not slide out of the bottom, which i would have prefered, but can be lifted out, which is not great if there was liquid on the tray. but my biggest issue was that it looked slightly smaller than our other crate. the description states this crate is 36x23x25. however when actually measured it is 35.5x22.5x24.75. half an inch here and there doesn't seem like much but it ends up being almost 1000 sq inches smaller in total size because of this. this crate is not a terrible one but there are other products for similar prices that are better quality.
this was insanely hard to open to get it together. i needed a screwdriver to pry pieces apart and ended up hurting my back. i finally got it together and put my dog in it. the door to the cage is bent but still opens and closes. it looks smaller than it says in the picture. i'm not so sure i'm gonna keep it. i've had these before and they were a cinch to very together. this was ridiculous. i do not recommend this brand. it's the same price as a better brand. next time i'll go with my gut. so much for giving the smaller guy a shot. nope!
is it a kennel? yes. does it come with a mat? yes. my siberian husky has another crate that she has had for years without destroying so i thought this would be a good one for when she’s being babysat away from home. she also does not like the kennel but again - she hasn’t destroyed the one she’s had for years. i’ve had this kennel for 6 weeks and she’s already broken the plastic mat, bent the frame, and more. wish that the metal was thicker / better quality because i could probably continue using it but this one is for sure on its last leg. after 6 weeks…i feel as though this is a waste of money and customers should look for a sturdier option.
my 8 month old gsd/husky broke the welds on this crate. not through the door but the actual metal itself. this crate is at my work so its not even used very often, she'd used it maybe 10 times prior to this. the crate i bought at the pet store cost more than this amazon one and i guess i now know why. you get what you pay for!
