this product is what it says it is, but does not excel at any function of it's potential.the device itself charges the internal batteries achingly slowly and for no reason that i can fathom. i have a much older power brick with 4x it's capacity that can charge to full in half the time this can.the solar charging takes longer but that's not unexpected. it charges at a respectable rate for a solar pannel of this size.it's capacity is modest and likely (it feels like but i havent really tested it) a lot less then advertised.it discharges to other devices slowly as well, 2.5 hours to charge a galaxy s20 era device to capacity from about 15%. that's way too slow. that charge rate is easily nullified by just running a music app or watching youtube while trying to charge it.it's totally worth having because it can charge a device in an emergency situation without any source of power. on top of that it's portable. ideal for long hiking trips where an emergency contact may be required. i am going to keep looking for a better performance option however.
charge all day in full sun for ~45 minutes of phone charging. bright idea to set up in windshield and collect sun all day at work... device panel popped out and externally hot to touch making me believe it overheated (in the sun) and would catch fire. not worth money, time, or effort.
i think hilucky is an approprite name for this product because you have to be hi to buy it and lucky to get to work as advertised.bought this item for backpacking, but the site doesn't tell you how much it weighs, which is pretty important for a backpacker. the silicon solar cells don't provide more than a trickle of power and the constant flexing of the joints seem to break the connection after only a couple of uses. led's stop working almost immediately. obviously this is made in a chinese plant because the same piece of crap is being sold under different names by multiple vendors on amazon for a cheaper price. what backpackers truly need is a five panel folding solar array that is slightly longer (25 to 50mm)to get more sun exposure that actually is robust enough and light enough to stand back country use and could change a 25000 mah battery to 40 or 50% within four hours or so. all that would be needed is a universal micro usb connector from the solar panels to a decent power bank or cell phone or could be daisy chained to a second solar array to double the output. that product would actually be worth the price that tjus piece of crap costs.
doesn’t work. we are avid outdoorsmen and this thing can’t even charge one phone fully. i’ve spent all day with this thing in the sun and it dies within 30 mins of charging a phone, and barely charges to 10%. pretty disappointed. too late for me to return and i wish i just spent the $$$ on a name brand with a return policy.if you are looking for legit products - spend the extra money at big 5 or rei.
so i put this to the test down and up. in and out. so i drained it all the way to 0.got 2 changes for iphone 14 and 1.5 changes for ipad mini. (whiles i’m use).as for the solar part i put in up in the dash for 25 hours (with ac so it wouldn’t over heat) to simulate set out to charge in the sun while camping. after the 25 i got a charge for about 35% to 45%. thinking the extra solar panels would bring it to a full charge but dose not.if i had to guess it would take about 72h for a full charge. it’s ideal for a emergency back up charge when it come to factoring the solar panels. it need like 5 more panels.so it think solar for charging and storing more than you use for your phone. think bigger or buy a bigger battery or bigger panels.if i could i would give a 3 and 1/2 rating to 4 star. factoring in everything plus the price.
i tested this unit and it was only capable of storing 13,500 mah, which is only 54% of its advertised capacity (25,000 mah). the unit works well, and has a bright built-in led light. the solar panels take several days to charge the battery pack, making it useless for a backpacker (not to mention it weigh 19.1 oz).there are other more reputable companies selling superior products often for lower prices. anker, ravpower, charmast, etc. do not get suckered for the solar feature. to have any meaningful charging ability you need much larger and higher quality solar panels than this unit provides.i would recommend you treat this product as a simple usb battery pack and ignore the solar panels. however, they take up space and weight, so i can not recommend this unit.
this battery does not keep charge even with an outlet. amazon wants me to pay 9 dollars to send it back. for real, this has been the worse product i've ever bought on amazon. charging all day gave my phone 13% charge. smh. waste of money. scam for amazon to get money just for the return.
fully usb charged ..upon opening .. got only 2 galaxy phone 100% charges ..until 1 light ... now won't solar charge ... at all ( when placed in sun ) ... not impressed. @ this point ...it's a battery bank ( a small 1 ) ... not worth it to me .
i charged the unit up at home and made sure it would charge my phone and that worked fine. what i found out in the back country of colorado 1500 miles from home is the solar panels are pretty much useless. after a few charges and battery starts losing power the solar panels won't recharge the battery. i'd spend more for a better product.
first of all the solar charging does not work on my unit at all. i didn't really expect it to charge much with solar as the description even says for emegency use only. what i had intended to do was charge the pack mostly full then leave the unit in my window which receives a lot of sunlight and then it will always be topped off and ready to use if the power goes out. i charged it to within one bar and left it in my window for a week then decided to take it on a trip. when i checked the unit, it had actually discharged down 3 bars! so it would seem my unit was discharging via the solar instead of charging. i did charge it fully from the wall but then only got two samsung folds charged before it died again. for me, i don't think this is a good value.
the battery on my s23 ultra is only 5000mah.this unit shoukd in theory charge my phone at least 4 times. best its ever done is twice from dead and an additional 30%. putting the realistic capacity closer to 10,000-15,000mah.so far im not impressed for the money.
i have purchased three of these. only one continued to work. product feels sturdy but after a while they just don't charge or power on anymore. worth maybe $15 at most.
this product is adequate as a power pack but the solar panel is useless. you would have to be much closer to the sun in order for it to recharge the battery. there are are higher capacity power packs at half the price.
for the price, look elsewhere. its a decent battery bank but the solar charging is laughable. i drained it camping and has since been solar charging for over 2 weeks and its barely at 50%
