no remote controller. shoddy wifi instructions. difficulty connecting. and when i connected and started setting up the lights it was okay but then i noticed the worst flaw. the led light density was downright miserably low. even for cheap brands. i bought these to replace my day better lights that broke after 3 years of use. saw they were wifi, and usually of higher quality. that seemed to be a lie. especially considering the daybetter ones were 20 bucks and these retail for more than triple that. they're not brighter, nor more dense. it fails in both aspects that you want. what's worse is the rolls of lights cannot be detached from the switch they're connected to. making it a worse user experience in laying out the lights than a cheaper brand. it's more cumbersome and fails in all the metrics compared to cheaper brands, yet it's got a premium price tag. save your money. but any other brand of led light strips you'll be better off. wildly disappointed.picture 1 is the govee lights with their density. picture 2 are the cheapo lights i already had.
do not look at the picture somewhere deep into the description they eventually twll you there is 540 light sources. i shouod have known thats why it was cheap. if your ok with dark spots in between your leds, go for it. but im not... mostly giving a 3 star because the picture on the front shows what looks like 60/m leds and you made it so hard to find the truth in your description
was going to add a photo, but no, it's not even worth the hassle. govee's quality has seriously slipped. these lights were screwed out of the box day one! looking for quality led accent lighting? yeah, look elsewhere. not only are the blue l.e.d.s screwed day one, but if you buy anything other than the 30' package, there are not only less l.e.d's per foot but the thickness of the strips are less. that's for more money! avoid govee, they are serious trash now.
i was expecting these to be better than the no name brand leds i’ve been getting but after further inspection i’ve realized they are subpar.first of the led spacing on these strips don’t make them ideal to be used with rails/diffusers you’ll notice dots.second the strips are powered by two separate wires. each row is about 50 ft, so if you wanted to run a continuous 100 ft you won’t be able to do this.third the brightness/color selection are the same as the lower end brand i was getting and two new extra features don’t justify the price.i also bought the tv sync leds and will be returning those as well.in conclusion these are just marked up leds. you get more features and more leds going with the no name brands and using a esp32 to control them.
i bought 3 of these. so far 2 of the 3 stopped working. i tried support first, and it took over a month for someone to respond to my issue and all they said in the response was to try and reset it. the colors are also way off. not worth the money.
i have groove lights in 5 of my 6 rooms i have 1 set of rgb 64 foot and 4 sets of rgbic in 64 foot bought this 100 foot to put in my living room because the 64 i have did not go down my hallway all the way. finding out they space the leds way farther apart is such a bummer. i love their product but sure seems like a cheap way to give you more length but the same if not less leds. very disappointed in this was really looking forward to the same style just in a longer real. would have never ordered if i knew this. i would give a 1 star but i honestly really like their products they are great just this was a disappointed to have less leds for more money.
i love the fact that they work(ed) with alexa. my cat got a hold of these lights and it was all over though. these are cheaply made and very flimsy and you will be able to tell. amazing for effects but keep these out of reach from children and pets. not good quality. spend a bit more and get hue strips since they are so much stronger and durable. there is a reason they’re more expensive. highly recommend if you are mounting ceiling. do not let kids or pets near them.
these can not be cut or connected. i would have bought the cheaper version by a different company if i would have know this prior. now i have a large section of the wall without lights and i’m not buying more because they’re expensive.
dont waste your money. just get the $20 random brand ones. paid $80 for 100ft and the last 20 feet of it flickers if you turn the brightness down below 80% (which is still too bright). the app and features are unrivaled, but, i can’t believe i spent $80 on a product that doesnt work as well as the $20 products. also, the 3m sucks. i followed the directions to a t. used the alcohol on my walls and everything and it still barely sticks… just buy the cheapos.
what the heck… $70 for these lights and this is it? if you don’t have a room that’s exactly 65 ft ur screwed if you want to put these on your ceiling. even if you managed to put the extra feet somewhere else the scenes are going to look weird if it doesn’t connect end to end. also, i don’t know if mine are broken but certain sections don’t work with the scenes, but work fine with solid color. really? basically i can use these like the cheaper sets because that’s the only way they’ll work. i hate these, but i’m physically disabled and can’t take these down, return them, wait for the return, buy different ones, wait again for shipping, then spend a whole day putting these up. i almost broke my back the first time i put these up i’m not doing it again. i’m incredibly disappointed. what a waste of money. don’t buy rgbic, save your money.
the adhesive does not stick well to walls. not sure if it’s because it’s near a window but the lights fall on a daily basis. the lights are bright and nice looking but for the price they don’t stick at all .
so i have just bought these lights about four weeks ago and the lights have started flickering colors of the rainbow around different parts of the lights when it is on a solid color and the white is yellow my other qovii light set up on it for about $100 were better and definitely are a five star but do not get these if you want actual real color
the light are really good and can light up your whole room. the app is also really useful when customizing the pattern and brightness of the lights. the only problem is that like other have said when you chose white on the app it turns it into a greenish white half way down the strip and it affects all the colors but its barely noticeable on colors like blue and red. so if ur thinking of using white and are a perfectionist like me than it can get a little annoying. its even more annoying when i chose to get it from this brand thinking it’s higher quality so the price is reasonable while other brands are more than 50% cheaper than these.
