for $10, you get what you pay for. i wanted a wired set of headphones for use with my older fire 10 hd so if shtf, i can still listen to audiobooks.this set is ideal for that job description.for music? these are utter trash. horrible.i gave them 3 stars since they do an admirable job for what i expect of them. i can't give them more than 3 stars or someone will think these are acceptable for music...which they are not.
although they work, the ear pieces are more for a child, than an adult, they don't cover your ears completely. the cord is very short, which is disappointing. you get what you pay for in this case. other than that, they work, would be great for a kid, not for me.
i've had many sony products over the years, and i have a general sense that if they put their name on it, then it's at least decent quality. the price was a little scary low, but i figured, it's still a sony.well, as soon as i picked them up, i knew it was a mistake. they are so cheaply made. they feel horrible in every way. uncomfortable on the ears, on the top of the head, and they stick out very wide and look ugly. did they sound ok? who knows. i put them right back in the box and sent them back. i'm ok if the sound quality isn't perfect (they're very inexpensive) as long as they are somewhat comfortable to wear. these are absolutely horrible. i would've given it a 1-star, but i have no doubt that the sound quality is fine for the price, so i'll give them that.tldr: the title says it all. this is in no way a deal. you are truly getting what you pay for in quality, or less. probably less.
i used these for about a month (about a two-three hour use per day) and then suddenly stopped working when i plugged it in my phone for audio. i regret buying the one purchased as it was a replacement from the white one which worked a lot better and over a year time but the black for some reason just died. would recommend a different brand and spending a few dollars more for longer lasting usage.
just nope.spend a tad bit more and get sony mdr-zx310ap for some actual cushion if you want to stay sony and cheap. or philips over ears for $20. both are likely much more comfortable especially after a while.you can find similarly priced headphones elsewhere if you need just a pair of headphones these look like they have cushion but are not comfortable. they don't sound great either, but not horrible. a sad delivery from sony. spend a little more and get something comfortable and reasonable. even if you don't need the highest quality sound these just aren't it. i'm knew i was returning them as soon as i placed them on my head. the cushion isn't actually soft. rather weird it made it past any test group.
the sound is ok for $10, however these will get very uncomfortable in a short period of time. there is absolutely no padding anywhere except on the ears, and even the ear pieces don't feel or fit right. i have a cheap 20 year old set that i bought at walmart that eclipse these in every way. i'm surprised that sony even put their name on them.
is it that people need to have a name brand, such as sony, to feel validated? and do people really believe that anything sony makes must be a great product? i had big doubts that these headphones could be good at $9.99, but given the 100,000+ reviews with such a high overall rating, i ignored those doubts, and that premonition ... i wish i'd trusted my instinct, because now i have to return the headphones (and returning stuff is such a pain).the instant i put them on i noticed the sound was muffled, so i played with the equalizer and was able to improve the sound a bit, but then the volume was compromised. i then compared these to my 15-year old apple wired earbuds and the apples, beat up as they were, were so far beyond superior to these brand new $9.99 sonys that it was comical. i literally laughed out loud.also, they don't fit well; they don't cup your ears properly; the fit was so poor that i kept fidgeting with them, but alas, i gave up.you know the adage, you get what you pay for? well it's true. instead of buying these, i would encourage you to save up your money for a couple/few months, however long it takes, and maybe you'll also need to bide your time until you find a good sale, but please treat yourself to a quality pair of headphones; these are not it. as far as i'm concerned, sony can stick these in their mt. fuji. because after all, you get what you pay for.
uncomfortable, even for on-ear headphones. tinny, shallow sound quality. cord is short and prone to grab other things it brushes against. right-angle head exacerbates the issue and makes plugging into extensions a challenge. jack may be slightly off-spec as pops and one-side cut-outs are frequent when plugged into an extension cable that allows any sort of movement.yes, it's $9—but you will almost certainly regret not spending more. a little startled sony would put the brand name on this.
super comfy. good for hours.sound is okay. nothing distorted. the highs are quite buried in the distance though.if you are just casual listening, these are hard to beat for the price. if you are doing anything critical you may find these lacking. it's a pretty big difference compared to more expensive gear.
there is a ton of sound leakage and there is nothing preventing sound to come in because the material that covers your ear is terrible. also the length of the wire is about that of a standard earbud. i would not call it good for the price but fine for the price. it would probably be worth it spend an extra 10 dollars and get something just that much better.
these headphones are great for someone on a budget but for like 5$ more you can get earpods from apple and they are much better than these. good if you can get them on sale but not recommended in my opinion.
nothing to exciting here. they are just budget headphones. didn't want to get anything fancy since my kid is required to leave them at school. they seemed to have made it through a year of school fine. the sound quality is good for the price but definitely not for the audiophile.
honestly, it is impressive to make anything for $10 and ship it to somebody, but that doesn't mean the product is of any quality. and this sony headphone is not of good quality. the size is best for a small child, the headphone does not go over the ear, it hardly covers it. the sound is something you would get from a child's toy. so although its $10, you're better off dropping $50 on something from skullcandy.
for $9.95 i guess i can't complain but i'm glad these will only be used for my ham radio. they sound awful. i hope they sound better in time. i've read some headphones sound better after a break in period. they will do while my koss headphones are out for repair but i would never buy these sony headphones again. i'm surprised sony would put their name on them.
vacuumtubejazzpro (see his/her review) pretty much nailed it, though i thought 3 stars was too generous. basically, the sound is blah and there's not much of it. the price is low enough that it doesn't really matter--or at least it's not worth the bother of returning.
bought three pair in january 2023 for my kids and by mid march one of them was not working. the wire frayed near the plug, causing a short, which made the headphones unusable. this was normal wear and tear from a kid and her laptop. sony said they don't warranty against normal wear and tear, even for a product used less than two months.these are cheap for a reason and sony doesn't stand behind them. they offered to let me pay to repair an $18 pair of headphones. that's absurd. no thanks. i'll look elsewhere next time.the other two pair that work, they're fine. sound is good, mic is good, but i can't say how long they'll last.
the sound quality is good and the comfort for a child’s ears are fine. if you have a responsible child they will survive and do the job if you don’t have one of those then good luck you’ll get a few months out of them maybe weeks who knows but for the price it cool!
