so disappointed ☹️, there is nothing solar about this unit, it’s all electric charging which by the way takes the whole day to charge this unit. if there is anything better out there let me know.
they are advertising 25000 mah output, that's 25 amps !!! this is impossible for this small size usb phone charger. do not trust this manufacturer or seller.
this was an awful purchase. probably the worst amazon purchase to date. the power bank doesn't work at all. i read the other reviews and thought it was operator error. i had this device 2 weeks before we went camping and charged it to full capacity before we left. i wanted to use it to recharge 2 phones and my kindle paperwhite during a 4 day camping trip. the info for the device made me think it would have no problem doing this. however, the powerbank doesn't hold a full charge for more than a few days on its own. and the solar charging takes 6 days to get the device back to full based on another reviewer who ran the numbers. based on the description, i thought there would be no problem for this solar charger with power bank to keep those 3 devices working. however we quickly found out, that even though it was 100% full when we left for our trip, the device didn't hold much power and never worked after the sun went down. what it was able to do was directly charge a single phone about 50% if the solar panel was directly in the sun and we left it for 4-6 hours. and in order to do this, it had to be in direct sun for a hour or so without being connected to anything else. dont waste your money!!!! because of the battery, shipping is expensive enough i wont try to return it. i reached out to the company based on the faulty advertisement that this has a power bank as well as solar charging and have heard nothing. i wished i would have listened to the negative reviews, i have no idea how this has any positive reviews at all.
i think hilucky is an approprite name for this product because you have to be hi to buy it and lucky to get to work as advertised.bought this item for backpacking, but the site doesn't tell you how much it weighs, which is pretty important for a backpacker. the silicon solar cells don't provide more than a trickle of power and the constant flexing of the joints seem to break the connection after only a couple of uses. led's stop working almost immediately. obviously this is made in a chinese plant because the same piece of crap is being sold under different names by multiple vendors on amazon for a cheaper price. what backpackers truly need is a five panel folding solar array that is slightly longer (25 to 50mm)to get more sun exposure that actually is robust enough and light enough to stand back country use and could change a 25000 mah battery to 40 or 50% within four hours or so. all that would be needed is a universal micro usb connector from the solar panels to a decent power bank or cell phone or could be daisy chained to a second solar array to double the output. that product would actually be worth the price that tjus piece of crap costs.
i would like to include pictures of the hell we went through due to believing that the multiple solar charging things we got from amazon would keep up cool during a 5 night festival camping trip with no electricity in 10000 degrees but i don’t want to scar anyone and embarrass myself. we had multiple items and they do not charge in the sun! maybe to 20% after 10 hours but that is not enough. it’s dangerous to anyone who doesn’t know what this is.
the power bank worked great for about 6 months until one day it totally died. it would not charge via cable or solar and you couldn't charge any devices with it. i emailed customer support and they did get back to me quickly. however, after a lot of back and forth, sending pictures and videos of the unit not working they don't seem to be interested in doing anything for me. was unable to find any warranty information so i guess there is none...
i bought this unit for emergencies, what good is it when it won't survive an actual emergency? i guess it works just fine in a clean and dry emergency.....i'm going to look into a different one that actually does what the description says it does
why is there absolutely no paperwork with this charger. we don’t know if there are any dos or don’t, how long the charge will last, etc. if there is a pamphlet that should have come with it please send me one. thank you.
i gave it a 3 because i have not used it yet and it could be great. i downgraded it because i bought it specifically because it was listed as waterproof. when i opened the manual it said it had a water resistant cover and was not water proof. in fact it should be put away at night because of high humidity. maybe i am misreading but it seems pretty plain. i am going on a backpacking trip and deciding whether to try it or send it back. it gets good review about its actual operation. i was a bit upset about the unclear advertising. where is a difference in a water resistant cover and a water resistant device. i have used it now. it is a big battery for your phone. there are lighter cheaper ones. i did not get much use out of the solar panels. hiking they just did not pick up enough light. maybe if you are sitting still in bright light. also it charges really slowly. at 25000 mah it can't be too fast but still all day and a quarter charge.
solar part works great, battery life is absolute trash! can’t even charge my phone more than 20% without dying! would not recommend! will be returning or asking for an exchange for one that actually works as advertised.
this solar charger is not an actual solar charger. it is misleading. i got 20% charge from solar full day sun. emergency light doesn’t work. trying to use electricity to charge it but i already have an electricity powered battery for charges. i purchased because i wanted solar power for camping.
adventure outdoor anywhere except where it rains or this device will fail. advertizing says waterproof. manual and design says to avoid rain. good luck.
the listed capacity on this thing must be a complete lie. i can't even get 2 full charges on my 5000mah phone. i should be able to get 5 based on the claimed 25000mah capacity.
i bought 2 of these. one seems to charge well, but the other will only work for a few minutes, and then will stop charging my phone. i can unplug and re-plug, and i will get a few more minutes. the lights say it is fully charged. unfortunately, i am well past my return date. (don't remember the exact date, but probably bought these in september, so 4-5 months ago).
i got this about 2 months ago. only used it 2 times to charge my phone at work. then i would put it back into my work bag. not it doesn’t even charge anything. it’s says full charge but doesn’t charge my phone at all. i know my charging cable works cause i used a different block and it works great. but i get nothing from my fairly new solar block. what a waste of money.
product is not as advertised. it advertises having a usb c port, but it uses micro usb and has no usb c port. i thought it would be a drop in replacement for the solar power bank i already had (which i had to replace because of a bulging lithium ion battery), but it absolutely isn’t. it superficially resembles it but isn’t anywhere near as versatile.
i got this thinking it would be cool. i've never been able to get it to hold a charge, despite trying to charge it in various ways in the sun. (including behind a window and in the direct sun outside, both.) i've never been able to figure it out. the instructions i got with it weren't very clear. i really, truly regret this purchase and i regret not sending it back within the return window. it's sitting in my random cables drawer, abandoned. i keep thinking maybe i'm missing some detail on how to run it, but i don't think i am.
