i was so excited to get another tomtoc! well, i got my protection sleeve for my new macbookpro 16 that was prescribed for my laptop. it does not fit unless you push, prod and force it in and then it does not even zip up. tomtoc, you need to build a case for the 16' and not just say the 15.9 case will work. :(
description is false and misleading the seller needs to amend it. it was a waste of time purchasing this item therein.while it does appear to provide more than adequate padding; what's the use if what they advertise as accurate sizing in in fact not true.
this has no padding on the edges or bottom. completely different than what is pictured. the seller was tomtocdirect. avoid this product and seller. false advertising, misleading product description and photos.
the idea that this product is shock resistant is laughable. i bought this because i was fooled by the military grade shock resistant advertisement. sounded good. it is super soft, and would not withstand traveling and being knocked around. super disappointed in this product. plan on returning.
i bought this as a replacement for the exact same item according to my order history in 2018. it was stolen from my office in a break in and fortunately i didn’t use it much so they only got that and not my actual laptop.the issue w this new one is that it barely fits my macbook and tough the zippers close, i can tell they will bust w more use because its so tight.furthermore what makes no sense from the description of the 14” sleeve it has these measurements:internal dimensions - 12.31 x 8.71 x 0.61”external dimensions - 13.3 x 9.84 x 1.1make the sleeve perfectly compatible with:14-inch macbook pro m1 pro/max a2442 2021what's in the box1 x 14-inch laptop sleeveyes its the wrong year but its still too small insidethis listing is using old reviews to promote an older product and changed the sleeve to be the newer one - 2021. this is not the same listing as the one i purchased in 2018 - listed as a 13” in my order history but still doesn’t fit, which is fine because products change but is very misleading. please make it make sense! returning this asap.
i got this case because i thought it was thin and had end protectors. turns out it is very bulky and the corner protectors are none existing. the inside of the bag is very soft and doesn't scratch your laptop. the corners doesn't have a hard protector material, you will for sure bust your laptop if you drop it on one of the corners. so if you are looking for a thin bag that still offers protection against fall, this is not it.
this case does not fit the new macbook air 13 very well. it is way too big, with an inch to spare each way. it bounces around a lot in the bag and is hard to stuff into the laptop flap as i intended. i mistakenly thought that new mean the most recently released macbook air in 2019. apparently the macbook air model number mentioned in the product description is for the old macbook air from 2018 which must be much larger. product description needs updating because this is confusing and misleading.it seems well constructed, quite thickly padded, and a good price for this quality level. unfortunately i ripped up the packaging before realizing it was too big so it cannot be returned. if it fit properly it would be exactly what i would like in a laptop sleep - corner insulation, thick padding, and seems quite durable, at a good price.
ordered this thinking it would provide a snug fit for my 14 inch macbook pro but it has space that allows the macbook to slide around a bit, description of the product should be updated and the pictures also should be as this is false advertising unless if i received a defective product.
i received my tomtoc case today, it looks nothing like the one in the photos above. the one in the photos above just fits the laptop, this has extra, front compartments, a handle, and barely fits my computer. amazon just keeps getting worse and worse.avoid like the plague.
as you can see in the pictures, this case clearly wasn't actually made for the new 14-inch macbook pro. it has at least .5 inches of space on both the top and sides. it's sad to see something so clearly falsely advertised on amazon.
i bought the new 13” macbook air this week. i ordered this product since i am traveling today and wanted it protected. the product arrived yesterday and when i tried to put my laptop in, the laptop didn’t fit. the edges stick out just enough that it won’t even zipper closed. i purchased this product because it advertised for the new air, which i have. i’m not sure if what was sent to me was for a different product or what. i’m currently using it unzipped at the moment with the edges sticking out so my computer has some protection. try to avoid buying if you can!
i would like to comment that i bought the product because according to the advertisement this was a safe product and it offered good protection especially with so called córner armour, it was fake advertisement and it cost me a irreparable damage to my macbook pro 16, my macbook was on my nightstand, it had a case on and the tomtoc sleeve on top, the results are shown on the images. please i would like to contact you
i strictly picked this product for the soft fur on the inside of the laptop. i bought an acer swift 7 which is an incredible laptop but scratches easily. the inside of the case did not match the pictures. the picture of the black case shows soft grey cotton fur on the inside. this is definitely not as pictured. take a look at the light blue case and that has a accurate picture of the inside of all the laptop cases. all in all this is a great case with more padding than the average laptop case for the price, so it's worth it. but i'm pissed because i wanted a soft exterior to avoid scratches on my $900 laptop. so i feel taken advantage of in a way. nothing in the description or pictures that states the inside is not soft like the picture. if i knew earlier i would have gotten a different laptop case.
this item is not fully advertised. the inside part is made up of large bubbles that seem to be able to leave imprints on the laptop. i thought sleeve would be well padded with a soft interior. this is not how this product is made.
the description incorrectly says that the macbook model a1708 (which is late 2016) has a touch bar. it does not. the a1706 and a1707 have touch bars. this led me to purchase the incorrectly sized case.this is really too bad because it is a very nice case. but i now have to return it.
worst experience i've had with amazon yet. i have a 2014 13 inch macbook pro retina display. i bought the 13 inch size -- didn't fit, too small. i bought the 13-13.5 inch size -- didn't fit, too big. extremely inconvenient, misleading size, lacking info. absolutely unacceptable. thoroughly displeased. i'm returning both. would not recommend, will not buy from again.
