i have had this keyboard for 4 months. at first i loved it. then i started to notice my typos. some letters would be missing while other times the letter would be displayed twice. there is no real pattern on when or which letter will or will not type. during the times were i can identify the problematic key i would remove the keycap and press down until i see where the response occurs. sometimes it does not type when fully pressed down, other times it would enter the letter twice. it has become pretty frustrating.i was hoping to change out the switches but they are not hot swappable. having to unsolder them would be a hassle. lastly i have tried a different cable from the one supplied and the issue still remains. since it is passed the return period from amazon, i am no longer able to return the keyboard.
keys are nice, compact little tkl. the major gripe that i have is that the keyboard does not function with any cable other than the one it came with. i have tried several usb-c cables, no luck. this makes me think there is some shady stuff going on with the hardware. not happy.
does not work with usbc to usbc connections, only usbc to usba( the included cable is usbc to usba).very annoying and misleading.-6 months later the 'a' key started printing twice on key press.
when i first bought it, which was maybe... 2 or 3 months ago(i don't remember too well), it worked perfectly fine. i played around with the lights, played some osu!mania and just had fun with it for the day. it's not a bad keyboard, i haven't dropped it or anything so i can't say much about how durable it is but after playing mania with it seems to hold up well. fast forward to now: i go to pick it up getting ready to play a game, mind you i don't use this thing daily, maybe like 1 or 2 times a month. when i pick it up and plug it into my laptop, it doesn't work. alright, i'll just disconnect the port from my keyboard and then plug it back in. i take the port out and the piece is stuck inside my keyboard. that's fine i guess, i have extra plugs. so, i go to get my extra plugs and those don't work either. i'm convinced the keyboard port where you plug the cord into is broken itself which is actually really annoying since i hardly use it. this is maybe the 1st or 2nd time i've actually taken the cord out of the keyboard aswell. not very happy honestly. i get that it's just some 30$ keyboard off amazon but come on...
i needed an inexpensive and somewhat portable keyboard for a laptop. this one had decent ratings and was inexpensive so seemed to fit the requirements.the keyboard does work. all the keys function normally and kept up with my typing. it does feel a little cramped though, even though it's exactly as wide as the keychron i normally use. key feel is fine, though a little spongy.main annoyance is that, even though it has a usb-c interface, it won't work with a usb-c to usb-c cable. instead, you need a usb-a converter and a usb-a to usb-c cable. alternatively, connect it to a dock.
this might not be a big deal to others but i wanted to share as it mattered to me. the keyboard has a usb-c port and comes with a usb-c to usb-a cable, no biggie. my laptop only has usb-c ports and nothing else. i have a hub that i can plug in to get several other ports including usb-a but i don't always want to pull that out if its not needed. so i grabbed a usb-c to usb-c cable and tried hooking up the keyboard with it. nothing happened. unplugged the keyboard and plugged it into my phone to verify the cable or port on my laptop wasn't bad, nope, phone started to charge and i can view my phones files from my laptop.after doing some research online, turns out the pcb of the keyboard doesn't support usb-c to usb-c connections, you must use c to a cables like the one included. this is disappointing and i will be looking into an alternative.
good item for the first month. but as soon as the amazon return window is over, the keyboard started having problems. essentially, if i need the computer for a few minutes and don't touch the keyboard, it stops responding. if i watch a video for a few minutes in full screen, it loses connection too. i would have to unplug and plug it back in. when i contacted magegee about it for warranty and support, it says please contact the seller directly for warranty information for this product. you may also be able to find warranty information on the manufacturer’s website. i contact magegee via email. they tell me to figure it out via amazon. i guess i learned a lesson here. there is a reason why these are cheap cause they start having issues in less than 2 months.
