lo compré para usarlo en ecuador y no funcionó, no presentaba la opcion para buscar aplicaciones solo venia ya instalada facebook y netflix aplicaciones que si tiene mi tv. lo necesitaba para max y no pude instalarla
i love my fire tablet, so i ditched roku and got the amazon fire stick. the problems keep popping up. i only have one app because i only watch discovery+. i get messages about loading errors and have to reset the remote. it gets tiresome. that takes a lot of time. i never had this problem with roku. neither of them is going to be great. there are problems with both. but this one is so frequent and annoying that i'm going to unplug and forget the fire stick.
love the interface, easy for non tech people to use. the remote is often not responsive or very slow to respond. tech support has their standard fixes - it does get a little old when you have to re pair, change batteries, remove and reinsert batteries, etc, etc, every time you call support or two or three times to get through a show or video. very frustrating not to be able to turn it on or off, pause it, fast forward etc multiple times per week or even per show. most of the time one of the things their tech support recommends fixes it, sometimes for a few days, sometimes for a few hours, and often only a few minutes. it’s time consuming to work with their support people, only to have it repeat the problem over and over. guess i will start researching for a new brand.
so since i have received the roku the remote has failed twice and roku thinks i should pay to send it back... it is dead it wont control anything yes it has new batteries yes i unplugged it for over 5 seconds yes i held the home and back button yes i looked for a pairing button in the battery compartment ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ugh and 37 minutes into my chat with technical support they are no help in the first 3 days when it failed i should have returned the entire order to amazon oh yeah i get to go to the post office stand in line after packing it up to then pay to ship it back al the while i cant use the stick ,,,,,
i really like roku have one in the guest room, the remote is great and it’s so easy to use and set up. got one for our main tv, we have a samsung speaker but for some reason the roku isn’t compatible with our speaker and doesn’t find the device.i bought the new firestick that does hook up to our speaker but the new remote is horrible. no power or volume buttons. but since it works with our bluetooth speaker the roku gets returned and amazon says.
in the usual modern way that everything in life is a grubby effort to extract money from you, roku requires that you register your credit card and some personal info in order for this to work.naturally they argue so that you can then seamlessly purchase programs, but i purchased this stick (my second one) to watch the free old-time tv programs. no need for your credit card for that!advertising is one thing, but how can i give a gift to a young person they does not yet have a credit card?otherwise easy to set up and use.
bought a new device but the package had obviously been opened before as the box was torn and the tape had been reapplied. can’t find chat in customer service page to resolve. item seems to work fine but i’m not happy about paying full price for a refurbished device. if you are stuck choosing between a stick or a module that plugs in via html, note that your tv remote won’t work at all with the stick, nor will the roku app. the module is capable of working with both.
the most frequently used buttons on the remote have ceased to function. i did purchase in november 2022, it’s july 2024, but i’ve never had remote buttons just stop working before. the build quality seems not great. additionally, it seems to lag connecting to the internet more than any other device hooked up to the internet. my cellphone (which is almost 6 years old) or another smart tv (older than the phone) seem to load faster.i contacted roku support. i had to use one of those painfully slow chat features to try to fix the issue. they first made me do all the troubleshooting one should probably do before contacting support. over thirty minutes and i’m still being told things like check the batteries, re-pair it, make sure the batteries are the correct way, etc. ultimately, they agreed to replace the remote, just to get repeatedly get disconnected. it’s been over an hour and thirty minutes, still can’t seem to get a remote sent. ultimately, was told the remote was out of warranty, but that i should also contact amazon for a replacement? when i was referred through amazon?a lot of the stuff they asked about me or the remote is information that should be associated with the roku account you are forced to create and the app you have to download for anything to be functional. if they make me input all that information, why do i also have to provide it again? why do they even need to have an account and app to begin with.would not purchase again.
i'm not a hundred percent sure but i believe after unit is plugged in for a week it starts intermitting signal. i swapped back to my older roku and it worked fine. i recently plugged my new 4k stick in and after a week or so i'm back to the signal intermitting
i been purchasing the roku firestick for over 5 yrs now and the last 2 i purchased in 12/2022 both of them stopped working 5/2024. does anyone else have this problem?? i went onto customer support followed every prompt and still nothing. frustrating....have an apple tv on my main tv for $145.00 don't want to spend the $$ for 2 other tv's but i have spectrum so limited with other brands....
the roku stick does not work as promised. after only a few months, the remote quit working, the roku is constantly buffering when it did work. i would not recommend this product and there is virtually no tech support. you have to go online and try to troubleshoot on your own. what a disaster and a waste of money.
do not buy this device there is zero support when you have issues! i have spent days trying to find out why my remote won’t navigate so i can connect to wifi!
do not buy any of the newer roku’s. i’ve had roku’s for years now and have probably bought 5 or 6 in my lifetime. the last two i’ve purchased have had faulty remotes. batteries need to be changed a couple times a week and it has trouble staying connected. it’s always asking me to pair a remote. this is apparently a very known issue.contacting customer support is a nightmare. they will do anything to blame the problem on you. finally they will concede the issue and tell you we’ll send you a replacement. 3 months later still no replacement and no response from customer service other than to ask how they did with their support.product is garbage and support is worse. switching to apple tv.
