my item was not charging in the sunin jamaica where we had no lightso i could not use i returned from jamaica august 11th and i did not use this product - i need to exchange or return !!!

first of all, 5 stars for super quick customer service... but thats about all i can say thats good.as soon as i received this battery/solar pack, i wanted to start testing it with my phone. i have a galaxy with a 4500 mah battery. this battery is listed at 25000 mah. i know the real life capacity of these batteries is usually less than whats listed, but i still expected to be able to charge my phone at least 4, maybe 5 times.to test, i fully charged the power bank from the wall. then, i ran my phone down to 15%, and charge it. i was able to get 2 full charges, and a 3rd charge from 15% to 40% from one full power bank. i repeated the experiment 3 times, and got similar results each time. i'm no expert in electronics, but 85% (from 15% charge to 100%) is only 3825 mah. the third charge (from 15 to 40) is 1575 mah. this means i was able to squeeze 9000 to 9500 mah out of their 25000 mah battery. i was very disappointed, because i have a regular 10000 mah power bank and can get 2 charges from 15% to 100% out of it before re-charging. the charge from this power bank was also very slow (over 2 hours), but that was something i could live with.i contacted the company, and received a response within 15 minutes. the explanation that they offered was that due to energy conversions, and cable loss, the 'real' capacity is 18500 mah. this meant i was still only getting half of the 'real' capacity of the battery. they immediately offered a full refund if i wasn't happy. even with the loss, i would expect that it could charge my phone at least 4 full times, or very close. i replied that i would be happy with a replacement if they thought their battery could perform better. instead they went ahead and issued a refund (within 2 hours) and told me to handle ordering a new one myself.even if i had exceptionally low expectations, i couldn't recommend this battery/solar panel. the unit is heavy, and quite large. much heavier and larger than the 10000 mah power bank (without solar panels) that i have now, but it only performs nominally better than my existing power bank. i didn't even get around to trying the solar panels before i gave up. i really wanted to like this, but its just not worth the extra weight to carry in my back pack.

i have higher capacity power banks. i also have a 'hobby' 600w solar setup.my brother got a power bank with a single panel and was unhappy. i saw this and thought '4 times the charging!so i got it. plugged it in, gave it a full, plugged in charge, then drained it and tossed it on the roof at 6am on a sunny oklahoma day with the panels out.not a cloud all day. went and retrieved the unit at 6pm. it had charged *one* dot.so, 12 full hours of uninterrupted, blazing, mid-summer oklahoma sun charged it less than 1/4.in grid down, unless you have many so they can sit and charge for a week (assuming uninterrupted blasting summer sun), these will be useless after day one, if you had it fully charged to start with.do not buy these for extended emergency use. for an overnight power outage, fine. for multiple days? total waste of money. the panels are too small to be really useful, and are mostly for show and a sales gimmick.and if you toss it in a drawer for an emergency, it likely won't be charged if you need it anyhow. if you toss it in a window so it's constantly charging, you risk borking the batteries before you ever even use it.i have smaller, lighter, cheaper, higher capacity banks. better to use those and get a larger panel to charge them. this is just too bulky for what it does and is.

charged my phone only two times and was dead. had sunlight for 8 hrs a day and only charged my phone 25%. do not recommend for long hikes or extended periods of time afield.

so i put this to the test down and up. in and out. so i drained it all the way to 0.got 2 changes for iphone 14 and 1.5 changes for ipad mini. (whiles i’m use).as for the solar part i put in up in the dash for 25 hours (with ac so it wouldn’t over heat) to simulate set out to charge in the sun while camping. after the 25 i got a charge for about 35% to 45%. thinking the extra solar panels would bring it to a full charge but dose not.if i had to guess it would take about 72h for a full charge. it’s ideal for a emergency back up charge when it come to factoring the solar panels. it need like 5 more panels.so it think solar for charging and storing more than you use for your phone. think bigger or buy a bigger battery or bigger panels.if i could i would give a 3 and 1/2 rating to 4 star. factoring in everything plus the price.

we bought this solar battery for charging our phones while camping. thankfully i had a second charger from another brand. this one did not charge a single phone after a full day in the sun. be aware the return window is only one month. i'm out of luck because i planned ahead and ordered this in april but didn't go camping until june. not recommended.edited to add: although i was past the return window, the seller reached out to me to offer a refund, which i accepted. my review of the product is still accurate, but the seller stood behind it.

i believe the literature indicated that the solar panels would only charge at 6 watts and i don't think that is listed on the online description. don't expect to lay it out in the sun all day and get a significant amount of charge. there are only 4 leds to show the level of charge, so there is no way to tell how much you charged during the day, but don't expect much to be added.

here’s what i don’t get. this battery claims to have 25,000 mah of energy storage. the iphone 12 pro batter has 2,800 mah of energy storage.so simple math: this thing should be able to charge my iphone 8.9 times.but can it?no.it can charge my iphone 3 times. so what the heck?also, leaving the solar panels in direct sunlight for 4 hours will add about 20% to its charge indicators. that’s not great.oh, and if you leave it in the sun and connect your phone, it will eventually stop charging your phone. i even put my phone in the shade to keep it cool. not sure why it stopped.i don’t know what’s wrong with this thing, but it’s not a great battery and solar charger.

i tested this unit and it was only capable of storing 13,500 mah, which is only 54% of its advertised capacity (25,000 mah). the unit works well, and has a bright built-in led light. the solar panels take several days to charge the battery pack, making it useless for a backpacker (not to mention it weigh 19.1 oz).there are other more reputable companies selling superior products often for lower prices. anker, ravpower, charmast, etc. do not get suckered for the solar feature. to have any meaningful charging ability you need much larger and higher quality solar panels than this unit provides.i would recommend you treat this product as a simple usb battery pack and ignore the solar panels. however, they take up space and weight, so i can not recommend this unit.

we got this product because we were going camping and there was little to no power available in the area we traveled to and it stated fast charging. i was disappointed when we found the fast charging to be almost non existent. it took almost all day to charge a cell phone that was already at 49% before charging and a tablet at 62%.the pros to this are:1. light weight2. did not take long to charge internal battery with the attached solar panels3. has a light feature on it that we were not aware of and this came in handy in the woods4. has s.o.s features tied into the light feature, that we were also not aware of. another bonusso, this is not a bad product to buy if you are looking for a solar powered light that has safety features built into the device. however, if your looking for something to charge devices fast while using the solar feature, this may not be the product for you.
