we bought these just incase, which is why they're supposed to carry a 5 year shelf life expiration date on the packages. which they have. but the quantities were way off.for the 2 person kit. it is suggested each person be given 4, 4.225oz packages of water per day, the enclosed quantity should be 24 pouches of water. our kit contained only 6.the ration bars are made for someone with a vice grip jaw and razor sharp teeth. there is absolutely no way someone with dentures, implants, and missing teeth are going to be able to eat those things.the medical kit was substandard containing on 3 small bandages, no gauze or antiseptic present, the scissors wouldn't cut soft butter. my 5 year old grandson has sharper scissors in his desk at school.there's 3 emergency blankets, 1 poncho, no water purification tablets, but you get a plastic water bottle for what? water is pre packaged.the 4 person kits comes with water packaged in 1lt. cartons. that's 33.33 oz of water per person/ day. in the 2 man kit it offers 16.9 oz of water per person/day. half the amount of the 4 man kit.the food was the same brick hard block of energy bars, there were 4 sets of clear goggles, water purification tablets, a wind up flash light with usb charges for your phone included. however the connectors are obsolete and unusable. why? did anyone pay attention?
the description shows that there should have been 16 pouches of water. did i get that? no!!! i received 2 quarts of water. not what i signed up for. i wanted the pouches so that they would be more light-weight and not take up so much room. i could have put in 2 quarts of water in my bags myself. i bought it because of the descriptions, and even when i received the bags it said right on the papers that came with it, that there should have been 16 pouches of water. do not buy if they are going to tell you one thing and replace it with something else. not worth it!!
this survival bag is depressing. it’s no bigger then my 2 yr old. it’s not very light weight or thick. the value of this bag i could make my own that would be way better. the first aid kit in this bag basically covers scraps and scratches. the food rations is ridiculous. in the case of an emergency i’d rather take my chances and leave this bag on the shelf rather then grabbing it. i sure hope it’s returnable.
... i wont hate on this bag, but i thought it was really small.the food(which i hope softens when the package is opened because it's hard as a rock) and water was only good for 4 years, not 5.overall, for the price it was ok.i do like the fact that this brand also sells refills by itself for $12.
i bought two. the kit is a great value for your money, but check expiration dates. the first aid kit and the glowsticks expire 2 years from purchase. the food and water expire 4 years from purchase, not 5. there are surgical masks instead of n95 masks.
so, this is ok, for the price... you probably can't expect much more. note: the backpack is tiny and not sturdy at all... it's the size of a backpack a very, very small child might use. also, the listing is misleading... for instance, you do not get 12x pouches of water... you get 8x tiny waters packaged in tiny juice box fashion... even the box you receive in the backpack says right on the outside that inside there are 12x pouches of water, but when you open said box there are 8x juice box waters. also, the listing photo and description show/state you get 2x proper particulate masks... but what you actually get is 2x of those crappy blue paper masks that cost less than 1 penny a piece. also, the “gloves” are a pair that come in those bulk boxes of 100 pairs you can get at costco or sam’s (so literally worth nothing)… and the way they’re packed with the “masks” in a flimsy cheaper-than-a-ziploc-bag, they won’t be clean or sterile when needed for use either. some of the perishable items don't have a shelf life of 5 years... i mean, they may have at one time, but not by the time you're sent the backpack. please be aware the first aid kit is a tiny, 3 in wide x 4 in tall (less than .5 in thick) pocket size joke... not a first aid kit by any stretch of the imagination. but, for the price, it's maaaaybe worth popping one in your car... however, please know this is not a proper bug out bag that's going to help you much in a real emergency... if your toddler can carry something while the rest of you carry proper bags, this may be it... also, it's definitely not going to sustain 2x people for 3x days.
i like the kit well enough to keep it, but the 5-year shelf life in the description is incorrect. my kit arrived in january 2022 with an expiration date of 02/2026, which is 4 years, not 5.
not as advertised. masks provided were three layer face mask and not n95 as advertised. whistle was a cheap flat plastic not the referee style as depicted in photo
decent value for the money. however, the backpack is child-sized and does not fit an adult male. the backpack is also poorly constructed and the zipper will likely fail easily. the masks included are also child-sized, poor quality, and do not cover an adult face adequately. probably going need to transfer and combine contents to another bag.
the bag is super tiny, more like a mini-backpack (ok for petite woman like myself, but not for others). disappointed that the first aid kit is missing and there is no opportunity to contact the seller. very much a starter kit, but will need to add supplements
the bag was smaller than expected and had zero room for other items. it might be good for a in-car situation but not practicle as a primary emergency kit.
i am a single man and i thought this would be great for me so i would have more then i would need or if i had someone with me, i would already be prepared for that. i am not sure where they got their emergency survival numbers for the water and food, but they are drastically off. if this pack better then nothing? yes. will it last two people three days? no.water - all of the survival books, blogs, and videos i have read or watched suggested a minimum of 1 gallon of water a day = 128 oz. each water bags gives you 4.225oz. for a total of 50.7oz! this is not even half of your daily recommend water intake. a gallon of water weighs in at 8lbs, so test out the weight in your bag before you need it. any water is better then none, but a little pain is better then dying of thirst.food - 4800 calories for 2 people would last 2 days a piece would would break it down to 1200 calories a day per person, which is the bare minimum you need if your not doing anything.medical kit - you could probably get by with this tiny medical kit if nothing happened to you other then a scratch.bag - tiny red book bag looks fit for a 10 year old kit, not a teenage or an adult. you should be able to pick up a cheap book bag somewhere that is much bigger then this.bottom line - the food and water you can buy from this company could keep you alive (i haven't tried either one yet, but i do mean to), however, you need more then they are offering. i haven't returned mine because i am just going to add to it, starting with a bigger bag. i have a bug out bag and a 3 day vehicle bag. this info is for a 3 day vehicle bag because every pound you might have to carry if your car runs out of gas, unlike being able to store it on the shelf at home.
great price...looks great..lot of emergency medical stuff inside. the bag was smaller than i wished. but for the money it ill work well. if you plan on adding much to the kit the bag is small....you will need to purchase a large bag some place else. i did. i found a back pack at k-mart and transferred all the medical stuff to it.
this kit is listed as a 2 person, 3 day kit. my kit came with all the miscellaneous items and three 2400 calorie food bars and 2 1-liter containers of water. basically, they provide each adult; 1200 calories of food and 1.4 cups of water per day. if all you were doing was laying around in an air conditioned room for three days, you would be hungry and partially dehydrated, but alive.the red cross (and others) recommend at least 1 gallon (4 liters) of drinking water per person per day. add extra, if you are going to be physically active (ie. trying to get out of the danger zone), or in a warm (80°f+) climate.1200 calories is half of the average daily adult diet. most adults in north america would consider this a starvation diet, and it is very inadequate if you are traveling, climbing, digging, moving debris, helping or taking care of others, etc. on the other hand, it never hurts to lose a couple of pounds does it.for the price, it is a good deal, but realistically, this pack is more suited for one person for 3 days. even at that, you will want to carry an extra couple of gallons of water with you.i contacted amazon (the seller) about the inadequacies and they refunded half of my payment with no questions asked. i used it to buy some additional food rations for my kit.
