i received the cake today and immediately noticed a “fishy” smell as i opened the packaging. i brewed it normally and was dismayed to find a terrible fish-taste in my mouth. the cake was probably stored incorrectly during aging or fermented incorrectly. i hope i can get a replacement or something, because this tea is undrinkable.
first off, the price for this bag is pretty good. at my local shop it was 7.99 for an 1 oz bag which is pricey. i was going through it too quickly so decided to try another place to purchase it.however, this doesn't have that same rich taste. it's very weak and bland. it also hasn't given me any digestive relief like the brand at my local shop. i've gotten no change at all from it. i am not sure this is the real thing and i unfortunately bought 2 bags of it.the grinds are pretty big also which don't fit into a tea strainer well.
disappointed. product contains too many plant twigs and stems (to increase the weight). also, the size of the tea leaves is rather large. finally, it does not have the quintessential aroma or taste of a dragon well green tea.
the color came out very intense and fast. i had it in a glass pot so i can see the speed and how dark the coloring spread. natural tea shouldn’t do this. meaning there was food dye added since the flavor and aroma doesn’t match the coloring. it smells nothing like tea leaves
i have been drinking dragon well tea for a while. i wasn't able find the brand i was using on amazon so decided to get this one based on all the reviews. the leaf of the left is from the brand i have been using, those are young tender leaves. leaf on right is from this product. these huge and they lack the nutty flavor.
i have been drinking dragon well for over 20 years and this is without doubt the least representative version i have ever had. i am meticulous about my brewing but none the less i find none of the flavor that i am used to enjoying.
