the design concept makes sense and works for the most part. it runs into trouble with a few things however.1) the slide drawer easily gets jammed up remove and re-inserting causing additional spill2) the drawer is possibly an inch or two too short, litter inevitably gets flicked onto the side ridges which then get wet and the only way to clean it is disassembly.3 ) the front door only swings one way so it confuses the cats, they stop using itit does helping with tracking but all the other faults means, for us, it's easier to use an open or fully enclosed litterbox
i was really looking forward to the size of this box for my two cats. it definitely was large enough and easy enough for them to get in and out of. no problem figuring out the entrance and exit. it was a little more cumbersome for scooping time though. took up more space than i anticipated. i did finally get the routine down but....after a few months it took longer to do the cleanup because one or both of my cats were messing up side of the interior and it was leaking out of the openings where it slides in out. the bathroom wall was having to be cleaned and sanitized also. i even had to buy floor protection pads to lay down underneath. so needless to say, i went back to my regular semi-enclosed box where they just jump in and out at the top and it has solid sides so no leaking. gave it a good few months try!
cats love the new box, but kitty parents, not so much. the grate on top was supposed to clean litter off the paws. the cats hate walking on it, so they jump from the exit door to the bed. this is so fun to sleep in! nothing like getting up off and on all night swiping little chunks of gravel out of the bed. bigger home would be nice, then would be able to move this gravel pit elsewhere.
just a heads up, when i ordered this i thought it was a great product.l, but unfortunately if you have a bigger cat it isn't a product you want. my big boy, not over weight, just big. broke his leg because his toes got stuck in the top thin venting holes. i would advise not to purchase if you have a bigger cat.
genuinely if i could give this litter box negative starts i would. this thing leaks like no other and is impossible to get all the way clean. there’s a ton of little crevices that even after cleaning with q-tips just would not get clean unless you plan on hosing it outside it just does not get clean. the leaking is the worst part i didn’t realize piss was leaking out of the back until i decided to get rid of it and now i’m trying to clean piss out of my carpet (-: it’s also pretty small size wise so 0/0 would not recommend.
two stars for aesthetics. i’m sure it works fine if your cat pees low or is neat when they cover their mess, keeping it below the bottom section. this litter box has a top frame, a mid section that folds, a bottom section, and the litter tray that you can pull out to clean/add litter.my cat pees high and since it has a mid and bottom section, the pee manages to find its way out of the seam wherever the cat pees. i didn’t know this isn’t leak free so our baseboard got ruined. it is puffy with cat pee behind the litter box. she pees high everywhere so it’s just really leaking out of all sides. it’s hard to clean the pee mess up, just so you know. you have to get under the tray and the bottom frame.also if your cat likes to dig a high pile in the back, higher than the bottom section, when you pull the tray out…the litter falls backwards also creating a huge mess in the back. the bottom section is only around 4.5in or less so good luck. i clean the litter box every 1-2 days so it’s not like i’m letting it accumulate too much.unless you have a neat cat, i wouldn’t recommend this abomination to anyone.
i’ll start out by saying my cats are scaredy cats. they don’t like the change. they didn’t want to go through the front clear door so i had to take it off. they also go out that door of course since it’s open instead of jumping out the top. the scooper is small and the bottom is slicker finish than most boxes i’ve used before. it’s also short so i have to be careful when pulling it out because my cats like to push it all to one end. all in all, not a great fit for my cats.
there are a few issues with this litter box. the lid opening is small, even the large one, so i had to remove the lid so that my cat's head doesn't bumping into it. when you remove the top, the sides bend and become unstable. also, the drawer is not deep enough and pee spills out which then needs constant cleaning of the mat and floor. pee and litter also get into the gap between the drawer and the box. i had to throw out the $50 litter box after only a couple of weeks.
it’s definitely cute. but it doesn’t fit securely and because of that, it’s leaks everywhere. it’s easy to scoop and clean. it’s definitely not stable enough to stand on like in the picture. it would break immediately. the quality is not worth $50-60. maybe $30. get a better one where you’re not drawn to the cuteness of it.
for the price ($50) this was a huge disappointment. neither of my two year old cats could fit into the top opening to get in or out of the large sized unit. i didn't need to set-up the unit based on this information. a brand-new litter box and $50 down the drain. sad for me and my kitties. this unit is better suited for petite cats/kittens.
unfortunately the litter box arrived broken. the package was perfect but this little piece that you wouldn’t think was important is broken. luckily i have a tiny cat so it works but isn’t very sturdy.it is a bit bigger than i would like, i already had an xl litter box but this is bigger than my old one.we are on day 3 of the new litter box being set up and it is amazing (except that it is broken and i did have to put it back together once). my cat likes to fling litter everywhere and there is no more litter on the floor!i would have returned this since it was broken and ordered a replacement but i needed the new litter box now as our old one broke and was no longer usable.
it was really easy to put together the only trouble i had was getting the door on but my cats don’t even go through the door. i wish it was a little bigger. the pan where the little goes is not as deep as i thought it would be and the top is designed to help the litter from getting on the floor but sometimes i still find litter on the floor. it also doesn’t trap the smell after my cats use the bathroom since the top has little hole in the top. it is nice that it came with a scooper and a little cleaning tool.
the litter box looks great , the tray where you put the litter, that’s great and probably the best thing about it. it was smaller than what i had expected in regards to hight. you say it works for up to a 15 lb cat, i got a 12 lb cat that is a bit too tall for it and he won’t go in it due that. my 4 month old kitten uses it…it does the job but i think it’s best for smaller cats. the top is flimsy and pretty weak so a overweight cat could make it cave in.
bought this for a cat that urinates standing up, the unrine sipped thru the crevices staining the floor, not really big for a cat thats 14 lbs, plus is messy, litter goes everywhere.
it's okay to put it lightly. my cats like it, it was easy to put it together and it's not as messy as an open lid litter box. it does absolutley nothing for scent, and is just small enough that my maincoone can almost pop his head out. if you get one i might suggest getting two if you have a multi-cat household. it is super cute though.
the box is not big enough for a grown cat. she pees and poops right outside the litter box constantly and when she does, it seeps into the top/bottom connection so i have to clean the entire thing. the top pops off all the time too while i’m trying to move it. bummed i can’t return it.
