we hoped to use it for in store events at a retail shop. the small ice tray only holds enough ice to fill 2 glasses. it will make more ice but there’s about 15 mins of time to make enough for the next glass. we tried moving the ice to a freezer as well but it freezes together into one big chunk. overall this is just for at home. however for at home it is noisy and gets more noisy over time as parts get dusty and used.pros: ice starts in 6 mins then you’ll have enough ice for a glass in 20 mins from start. it makes small crushed ice that is easy to chew. it also doesn’t need cleaned too often.con’s: it’s noisy machine. it’s slow to make ice and won’t keep up with demand of a dinner party or any guests.overall it’s more for personal use if you’re just tired of making ice manually.
i have had other countertop ice macines in the past and this one perfprms the worst out of any of them, it ony produces one single ice cube every 8-10 minutes when it is supposed to produce 8 at a time i cant even begin to say how diapointed i am in this
we have one with a basket, probably 8x8x7” that holds lots of ice. this one is ridiculous! the hopper doesn’t even hold enough for a big mug! and, it stopped working the second day and miraculously restarted a couple of days later. i’m done. going back.
worked perfectly fine for a month. now all of a sudden it’s still making ice but it’s like cut off into about 1/3-1/4 of the size the ice should be. i always keep in on the large setting too.
you can't get an idea of how small the ice cubes are until you see it.doesn't make a lot at once.it would take half a day to make enough to fill a bucket.plus, if you tried making the ice and freezing it till you had the desired amount, the ice is wet enough it would stick together into a solid mass.we were trying to add to the ice we take with us golfing....this will not work.sent this back.
i just just received this ice maker and due to the instructions i had to wait 24 hrs so it could settle being upright. i was a little confused because online it mentioned to only use distilled water. however, the instructions says nothing about this. also, you must discard 4 batches/cycles of ice on first use.i was not about to spend money on water to only discard it. further, it takes a long time to make these little ice pellets. i'm not a fan of these at all. i prefer bigger ice. mind you, i have only selected the small size just so i can get through this initial process of discarding the first four batches. once i have the opportunity to taste the ice and see how it tastes and last, i'll be able to make a better judgment. for now, the jury is still out. if i'm not satisfied, i will return it before the deadline. i humbly apologize if this was not helpful to anyone. but i must be honest.
i have used it this product for a few weeks now and it is not consistent at all. most of the time it does not work. large and small ice cube sizes are the same size.
i've seen bullet cubes before, but they were likely from an industrial machine so they were much bigger. these are almost adorably tiny. (and the first ones that come out are even tinier. they get a bit larger after the machine has been in use)so the downside is, the ice is very wet. it makes sense, it's made by dipping a pole that freezes water around it from a little tub of water. this means, if like me, your intent is to make enough ice to fill a bin in your freezer then use it as needed, you're gonna need an ice pick of some sort.if you can afford the extra electric bill, the ideal way to use this is just to have it running all the time. it'll automatically stop when the basket is full or if the water runs out. as the ice melts it goes back into the reservoir. so you always have ice. (though it does clump a bit even in the basket.) but the ice will melt because inside is simply insulated like an ice chest. it doesn't get cold inside, it just stays cool enough to keep the ice from melting immediately.if you can afford it, i'd recommend going for a better one that keeps ice frozen inside and makes cubes. i wish i had just saved up and gotten one of those instead.
ice cubes are very small. but the real problem is the ice melts while in the tray. it's winter and indoors we are about 68°f and when ice is full most of it has melted away. looks like a cheap design in all honesty. 2 stars because we do get ice but not as advertised.
i like the speed in which the ice can be made. i also like the shape of the ice. the machine is big and bulky, however, my biggest complaint is the noise level. my dishwasher is remarkably quieter than this ice maker. it's a little unnerving. i will be returning it.
i so wanted to love this product, but unfortunately it broke now long after i started to use it. the lift that pushes the ice into the bucket broke on one side so the ice gets stuck on that side. as a result the ice doesn't dispense into the bucket correctly and sometimes not at all. the color was perfect for my kitchen, it's not noisy, compact and makes ices fast. i still use my icemaker a couple of days a week, but i have to push the ice into the bucket. it's a nuisance sometimes but i'm keeping it.
the good part is it makes ice. it also does it quickly. the noise level is moderate while in operation.that’s about it. the cubes have a hole in the middle to form the cubes quickly. it also means they melt quickly. over night they all melt together into a clump. sometimes breaking them up works. others not so much. i suspect it’s about standard across most of this type of unit. if they had designed this unit slightly different with a chilling line somewhere near the water or ice bucket maybe the clumping wouldn’t occur. the basket is surprisingly small. enough for 3-4 small drinks or 2 standard water bottles. this certainly wouldn’t make it for a party. again, it makes ice and if your fridge ice maker is on the fritz this works to take its place.
i’ve used ice makers since 2014. this is the only one that doesn’t fill up the basket unless you continually adjust how it falls in the basket. the scoop is too short or something because all the ice piles up and shuts off the ice maker before the basket fills up so i end up with either not enough ice or weirdly shaped ice because it melts down so much before the machine makes any more. will run it until it crashes and will not buy this brand again!!!
