i got this to protect my son's laptop in his backpack, and i especially wanted something water resistant. i ran the case briefly under the tap and the water soaked right through. i wouldn't trust this case in a spill; at best it gives you a few extra seconds to get the laptop out before it gets wet. the foam feels flimsy. i was honestly very surprised, given all the great reviews here.
while you could put a laptop in it, the material used is basically a cheap foam. it might work for some impacts, but any sharp corner or object could tear this thing easily.
i like the price of this case and how my laptop fits into it.i find this laptop case about enough to store my laptop but not much more. sure it's nice and soft but anything more than a very minor slip and it won't protect your expensive investment.i spilled a glass of water on the small table next to my chair. i keep my laptop stored in this case on the floor between my chair and table. the outside of this case was just like a sponge but i didn't feel any moisture inside the case.
