one of the primary reasons for many of us to buy the sleeve for the tablet/laptop is to get protection from water-as tabs/laptops are not water proof/resistance.i have experimented this product with the water- the edges inside of the product are not water resistant- you can feel the wet surface and it gets into your hand-means it will also get into your tab/laptop.if you are caught up with the rain/heavy snowfall, be ready to have wet tablet/laptop (starting from the edge) with this sleeve!!!
overall a decent product. the fleece padding is surprisingly thick, zipper pulls move well, the zippered pockets have a little extra material along the closures so you can tuck the zipper pulls so they disappear.while the material is water resistant, it is far from waterproof as in the description. water will bead off initially, but sustained rain or sitting in water will allow it to soak into the material. the frame protection design is also misleading, with the 3rd picture seemingly has some sort of bottom shelf the laptop rests on. there is no frame or bottom shelf other than padding and the very bottom of the case and sides isn't nearly as padded as the front and back.will a laptop survive a fall inside this case? it might, if it lands on the front or back, but if it falls on a corner or edges, all bets are off.the main reason for the purchase is to protect a laptop inside a backpack with no built-in laptop holder. if the intended purpose is to use it standalone, it seems a little bit more flimsy than advertised.
