set up was fairly simple. have only had it about a month and already have had to unplug it twice due to something that stopped working. navigating around is a bit disjointed. really not a fan of the remote - very limited functionality. i hate that the volume and mute buttons are on the side of the remote. i am constantly unintentionally hitting the mute button just by picking up the remote and the volume buttons do not function well. i often hit the volume down button and the volume will start increasing or not work at all.
after a few months, the button to move to the right became very difficult to make work. had to press very hard, and several times, to move right on the screen. super, super annoying and now don't have a working remote. i don't see how to get a replacement remote. i never had this problem with the amazon fire stick. guess i need to go back to that and ditch roku.
i am very disappointed with the roku system. the remote switches stopped working for us after a month and the return window was closed. so now my tv is attached to a thing where i can’t reduce or increase the volume. speed is also slow.
i liked the simplicity of the home screen as i found the firestick to be a little cluttered. i think the roku is a bit laggy though and the remote failed at 6 months, making me unable to turn the tv off and on. researching i found that remote failure is a common issue. i went back to my firestick.
if you hold down the volume down button it increaser the volume fast. you have to keep working it to make it work. very disappointed in roku's quality. amazon sticks are not the best but never had hardware button issues.
this is my second roku where the remote doesn’t respond to the receiver even after new batteries, the screen is green even after taking out and replugging hdmis, image is blinking on the screen, and the volume will auto max increase when i’m trying to turn it down. i’m beyond frustrated with roku.
we have now ordered two of these and the same thing continues to happen, where the right arrow button stops working..we like the features, eae of use, and interface of the roku, but twice now need to replace the remotes in order to be able to navigatee the interface at all. after couple months of use the right arrow button starts to stick and then stop working all together - wondering if this is a qc issue they need to look into.
brand new device just received and setup today. as a basic roku streamer it works fine but this was expressly bought for the remote's volume control capability which doesn't work. using the voice command 'volume up/down/mute' gets an 'unable to change volume' message and the buttons on the side of the remote are completely non-functional. roku's official support site instructs the user to press * for 'volume modes' which doesn't help and the site doesn't not offer any other tech support. all my other remotes operate volume flawlessly on my toshiba regza tv. would give a much better rating if the advertised volume control capability worked.
i would give it 5stars but the ok, up, down, left and right buttons don't respond well, i have to press each about 3 to 4 times before it works. this seems to have happened to a lot of users
we purchased this product for a 2nd time. can hardly turn up the volume?? it's very difficult and often impossible....easier to turn down volume. what are we doing wrong? this occurs with both products.
only has netflix and apple tv, no disney plus no hulu no paramount not hbo max, no prime video, no search button either. what kind of streaming device is this i checked their website and this model should support all these apps and it doesn't really unsatisfied
