i’ve experienced overheating with 3 different roku steaming stick models purchased between 2017-2022. the roku stick 4k was only used a few times in a spare room by guests, yet it overheats less than 30 minutes after being plugged into the tv or hdmi switch.none of the troubleshooting tips recommended by roku resolved the problems their tech support said overheating is a defect. conveniently they only offer a 1 year warranty their solution was for me to buy yet another roku device. i’ll buy a different brand or upgrade to a smart tv as opposed to lining roku’s pockets with my hard earned cash.major fire safety hazard!!!
i purchased the roku stick initially it worked on a tv i had in my bedroom it worked maybe 5 times that i used that tv after that it did not work i tried all the troubleshooting i could, the thing never worked correctly at all.i will never buy another one and hopefully you don’t fall in the same trap that i did.thank you roku for nothing gail smith
i used this for our house in france. i then got one for my house in the us. i can’t log in with my account because it only gets the french version. it’s too hard to trouble shoot for me. i also had trouble using it on my mom’s tv that i created another account for. even with the optional dangle attachment i couldn’t get it to attach to her hdmi port that was somewhat blocked by the wall mounting bracket.. make sure you have free access to the port before buying one
