the charger is rather long, so it’ll droop down if plugged into a socket horizontally; you may find yourself often pushing it in to keep it in the wall. my socket is not particularly loose or anything. i have something plugged in under mine which keeps it from drooping as much. other than that, this is a great charger. i do wish i hadn’t gone for one with a usb 3.0 port, though. since buying it, i no longer have any usb3 cables for regular use devices, so the port is always unused.update:i always use this charger while traveling. having gone on multiple trips to japan, i’ve noticed that the charger doesn’t function well. i usually use it with my phone and apple watch plugged in. the phone connects to the top usb-c port and the watch connects to the larger usb port. if i plug it into the wall with my phone and watch already on their chargers, the watch doesn’t start charging. if however i plug it into the wall, wait a couple seconds and then plug the watch charger into the usb port, it starts charging. this doesn’t happen in the us, but does happen consistently in japan (both east and west japan, so 100v at both 50hz and 60hz), so i guess it has to do with the voltage. the apple watch charger never has this problem when using the standard tiny apple usb power block.anker is supposedly reasonably popular in japan, with a building in central tokyo and all, so it’s surprising if any of their products are not tested deeply for that audience.this product is rated for 100-240v, 50/60hz, so it should ideally work accordingly.
used it four times now it overheats and stops working. bought it specifically for traveling and laptop charging. usually i swear by anker but this charger has been garbage. it got hot the first time i used it but not obnoxiously hot. then it got worse and now it stops working. i thought maybe the issue was using it to charge a laptop (laptop usb-c charging caps at 65w) so i tried a pixel 4a. nope, same issue. going to try the 715 nano and see if that works; fingers crossed i simply got a lemon in this model. i use anker usb c cables but i did test out other cables; heat problem remained. also tested the anker usb c cables on a different anker usb c charger and they work fine. also that charger does not get hot, but it's not convenient for traveling either.
i am usually such a huge fan of anker products. this charger works well, but is so heavy that it is often falling out of the outlet. it comes with a little rubber boot thing, but that blocks off other outlets. i bought this to take traveling and very often i wake up to my devices not charged because the charger fell out of the outlet overnight. i’d recommend a different anker charger
annoyingly, once you plug cables into it, it doesn’t stay plugged into wall outlets. the problem is that the adapter is relatively long and slim, and so the cables are far from the wall. with three cables, it creates just enough leverage, that the adapter slowly unplugs itself. when plugged into an outlet strip on the floor, it doesn’t have a problem. so, mine is no good for travel, its intended purpose.
