these gloves are only will only barely work for super light weight things for beginners. they fit ok, material is fine. but the design flaws are #1: the padding is actually too thick, it changes your natural grip, which makes a big (negative) difference in heavy lifts and calisthenic exercises involving a bar or rings.#2: the more annoying design flaw is in the thumb. the seem in the stitching is right where the bar/handle goes which is super uncomfortable and even painful with larger weights. on top of that the soft back material that’s making contact with the bar or weight doesn’t have any grip so it’s slippery for the thumb. i’d rather get callouses than use these.
these atercel's look good and fit good. the grip is good. my only gripe, but it's a big one, is that there is too much padding. it's hard to hold onto a bar - a pull-up bar, stabilizing grip, etc. i've been wearing these for a solid month of workouts, hoping they'd break in, but they still fight getting a solid grip.all the other features are great, but i still need to be able to grip tightly even with gloves on.
the gloves run a little bit on the large size, but not much. they seem well built and will probably work well for weight lifting. they were not good for rowing, which is why i bought them. there is too much padding in the palm and the fingers stop at the first joint. with all the padding, it pushes the bar away from the palm and puts more pressure on the fingers. the palm and fingers do have grippy surface coating which helped hold the bar, but it didn't make up for the bar being further from the palm. they were also difficult to get off, even with the straps between the fingers. i tried them once and returned them. so they may work well for lifting, but they were terrible for rowing.
i use them to lift weights. first pair had stitching issues, requested replacement. received replacement and have used them for 2 days. so far the stitching seems to be better. the padding in the palm area is thin and the grip material in palm area is inferior to good old leather. i will use them a few more days and see. the odds are that i will be returning these too.update#1 i have used the gloves for over 10 days and here are my suggestions. the length of the fingers are fine, the pulls to take the gloves off easier works well. the backs of the gloves are fine. i wished the palm area below the thumb had more padding. the gummy/grip material on the palm area doesn't work as well as leather in the same area. do they have the same glove without the gummy/grip material? do they have the same glove with leather in that area?update#2 the second pair of gloves ending up working great. they lasted about a year. the stitching on the thumb and index finger unraveled and the areas split open on both gloves. i went to amazon and they had a returned, brand new pair for a discount. i purchased those and they work great. i just purchased 2 more pair for future use because they work perfect for me!!! in the beginning i was not sure that these gloves would replace the good old leather but they are a superior product!!!
to be sure i got the right size i measured my hand as shown on the product page. my hand measured 8 3/16which is on the small end of large. i almost ordered the medium because my fingers are on the thin side, glad i went with the large. they are very snug and it is somewhat of a struggle to get my thumb in and out of the thumb finger hole. even after almost a month of daily use, the thumb fits very snug. the gloves have a thick padding which has a tendency to sometimes wad up. these gloves are what i would expect to be for people with very thin fingers and soft hands.
i was very excited to get these gloves but was immediately bummed because the padding on the gloves was too thick to actually properly grab weights. idk if it’s the placing or just the thickness but it made it even hard to grip weights as well as the pull up bar. will keep searching till i find the right pair i guess.
seems durable and priced appropriately. i take two stars off because the area i need the padding just happens to be right between where the two main padded patches are on the glove; maybe it is perfect for weight lifting and its other intended uses, but i am using it in a somewhat unconventional way for which i need padding on my palm. circled area in the attached picture shows where i need padding, and it doesn't cover that area.i need to push an aluminum rod with a knob on the end about the size of the knob on the end of a baseball bat, and need to do it repeatedly but it falls right where the padding isn't.fit is great and the velcro is great and i like the two webbing straps for ease of removal. just not working the best for my particular situation.
there is too much padding on these for racquet sports - it is hard to grip the handle because of the padding which causes your hand to get tired/weak quickly. it was also very hard to get off even though it felt like it fit very well when i had it on.
