originally, i loved my owala water bottle. it kept my drinks cold, had fantastic colors and a really cool lid! however, after nearly a year of use, the problems started to arise. first, tell me why my water be tasting like sewer lines some days?? granted, some times it would sit for a couple of days, but even after a fine wash it would still reek a little. also, i’ve had to make 2 warranty claims for a new lid, with my button breaking off first, and now the entire handle and lid just disintegrated! for this second warranty claim, owala has no lids in stock, so now i have a non-functional water bottle collecting dust in my house. it’s a great deal at first, but when the poor workmanship starts to shine you realize you got duped.

i had the bottle for 3 months and the button keeps popping off the lid. contacted owala and they gave me $13 of credit to buy a new lid. my bottle color lid is no longer available (after 3 months?) but ok i can somewhat understand this. i follow the link they sent me and 16 of the 18 bottle lids are out of stock. i can get all black or all white. forget about trying to match the color scheme of the bottle i bought. i asked for a total new bottle so i can have a matching color scheme and they basically kept repeating the limited warranty only covers a lid. i asked to be escalated to the next level up to push my case and they stopped responding altogether.

i bought this water bottle in january and i loved it. the built in straw feature was great. but a few months ago, the button latch flew off. i was able to reattach it to the spring so i hoped it was fixed. it started flying off or coming apart every time i used it. finally, one day i went to take a drink while driving and the button flew off. i searched everywhere in my car and was unable to find it. i filed a warranty claim with owala which was accepted. it took weeks for them to email me a voucher for a new lid. when i tried to order a new lid, they no longer carried the lid that went with my bottle. i found another lid, but it was out of stock. every lid was out of stock except for black and white ones! i signed up to be notified when the lid i chose would be back in stock. that was weeks ago and i’m still waiting. i’m leery of buying another owala product but am willing to continue using my bottle with a new lid to see if it lasts longer. customer service should make sure they fix the issue with the lids or keep more replacement lids in stock. i’m very disappointed with the product and owala’s customer service.
