if you're charging strictly from the usb c ports, then this is a good charger. however, if you're charging from a c port and the regular usb port, forget it. left my phone charging from it overnight and didn't charge at all. tried a different cable but same result. not worth the money.
i'm really disappointed with this charger. it's advertised as a 3 port charger, and boy was i excited. this meant that i would only have to carry one charging brick when i am traveling, which makes life so much easier. except this isn't true. if you're trying to charge 3 devices at once, this product is unable to power all 3. for example, if you need to charge your ipad, iphone, and watch overnight (which is a common occurrence on the road), you can't actually do so. skip this charger and anker should change the way they advertise this product.
great compact charger, with one flaw. sometimes the regular usb port does not charge. i normally charge my apple watch using this port, and i often set it on the charging puck only to find later that it was never charging. i have to unplug the cable from the brick and reconnect it. i have a family member with the same charger, and they have also noted the same issue.
i travel with a steam deck. although the 735 charger is capable of charging at the correct speed and protocol, it will not charge a steam deck at the correct rate. you will get the slow charging warning from steam deck every time. the slow charging warning will pop up either because input power is less than 30w or it isn't using pd 15v for charging. the anker 735 charger will not use the pd 15v protocol with a steam deck. the charger does well with everything else i've thrown at it, but if you have a steam deck, look at a different product.
edit:after some testing and digging i was able to determine the reason this product did not work what i intended. while most of the marketing on this product suggests it can handle 65w with an output range of 4.5v - 20v, it is misleading. supported voltages include 4.5v, 5v, 9v, 15v and 20v, with 3a throughout the range, except the usb a which is limited to 5v 5a. usb c pps is limited to 3.3v or 16v only.anker's data sheet says the usb a will support 12v but in my testing i was only ever able to get 5v out, with load, from the usb-a port.i wouldn't recommend this charger for anyone planning to take advantage of its power delivery features, unless you have a macbook or just plan to use it as a charger for phones and tablets. it is not well suited for anything except for 5v, 9v and 16v outputs over 20w.the gan series chargers have a slightly more robust output range but are still limited to 12v 1.5a on the usb a output. however the gan series does support 12v output on the type c ports, which the nan do apparently do not.
the “iq” in this charger is so frustrating. hooked only a usb-a lightning cable to an apple charging mat. laid down my phone for the night to charge while on vacation. also laid down my airpods on the other side of the charging mat. airpods start dinging off and on that they are getting an interment charge. phone is not charging. always hard to tell what’s going to work and what won’t work when plugging in to this charger. returning it.
bought this item in 2022. had issues with it falling out of the wall but overall worked well. unfortunately left it at an airbnb so bought a new one. new one came with a rubber mount so it doesn’t fall out of the wall, but has issues with charging. every time i connect a new device it temporarily shuts off all charging then starts up again. sometimes will not charge a device so you have to unplug and replug. would easily be a 5/5 if the new unit didn’t have these charging glitches.
i would not recommend it one week of getting it n the box came apart when unplugging my cable n those not charge fast it is dangerous bc i try putting the square part back n it was sparkling in my out let never again
i've had the charger for two months and both the ports for the cellphone and tablet stopped working. only the usb is functional and it's slow. i've switched out cables, i've switched outlets, i've let the charger head rest. it has no damage of any kind. it just gave out. for it being so expensive and to last so little time...
charger was charging fast and fine the first 3 months. after that, it slows down and sometimes won’t even charge my devices. i even use the official anker charging cords with it, but still very slow.
not sure why but it charges the steam deck slow. 5 hours compared to 1 1/2 - 2 hours it takes with the factory steam deck charger. ver disappointed in this product. i should have purchased the 45w version as i’m reading it works better…
i love all my anker products but very disappointed by this one as i got it as an christmas present to consolidate at my desk for my macbook pro, charging other usb-c devices and for my lightning cable. if i have the macbook pro plugged in and then plug anything else in the macbook stops charging right away. the usb-c 2nd port also would never charge my anker power bank. the usb-a would work fine for the most part unless i plugged in my phone while my macbook was charging then both would just stop. i will only be using this now while traveling instead of just using at my desk like i was hoping to do.
i bought this charger so that i could consolidate all my chargers into one during travel. i deliberately chose the 45w charger because i was willing to compromise on charging speed in order to maximize compactness.what a mistake! the power management on this adapter is awful. if i plug in my ipad on one usb-c port, iphone on the second usb-c port, and apple watch on the usb-a port, i would expect them all to charge but at a slower rate.not what happens. instead, the first usb-c gets nearly full power, second gets partial power, and usb-a gets none. not optimal, but potentially okay if the charge delivery changes once the ipad and iphone are fully charged.that’s also not what happens. instead, the usb-a never gets power until you unplug and plug the adapter back into the wall. even if you disconnect the ipad and iphone, it still won’t send power to the usb-a until you physically unplug the adapter from the wall. it is almost like some sort of reset.if you charge your devices overnight like i do and hope to have a full charge in the morning, you’re out of luck unless you want to set an alarm to plug/unplug at 4am.i thought i had a defective unit and anker replaced it, but the replacement does the same thing.i’ve used many other anker products over the years without issue. this is the first one that has left me very disappointed. save your money.
the charger is rather long, so it’ll droop down if plugged into a socket horizontally; you may find yourself often pushing it in to keep it in the wall. my socket is not particularly loose or anything. i have something plugged in under mine which keeps it from drooping as much. other than that, this is a great charger. i do wish i hadn’t gone for one with a usb 3.0 port, though. since buying it, i no longer have any usb3 cables for regular use devices, so the port is always unused.update:i always use this charger while traveling. having gone on multiple trips to japan, i’ve noticed that the charger doesn’t function well. i usually use it with my phone and apple watch plugged in. the phone connects to the top usb-c port and the watch connects to the larger usb port. if i plug it into the wall with my phone and watch already on their chargers, the watch doesn’t start charging. if however i plug it into the wall, wait a couple seconds and then plug the watch charger into the usb port, it starts charging. this doesn’t happen in the us, but does happen consistently in japan (both east and west japan, so 100v at both 50hz and 60hz), so i guess it has to do with the voltage. the apple watch charger never has this problem when using the standard tiny apple usb power block.anker is supposedly reasonably popular in japan, with a building in central tokyo and all, so it’s surprising if any of their products are not tested deeply for that audience.this product is rated for 100-240v, 50/60hz, so it should ideally work accordingly.
if you charge multiple devices on this, including an apple watch, it may randomly decide not to charge the watch and then the next day you do not get to use your drained apple watch. i've gone through anker support and they tell me this is expected -- when charging usb-c devices, it will shut down usb-a charging. the solution is to charge one device at a time or play with the order in which you plug in devices. this seems like a poor design choice for a charger with multiple ports. if you check the online anker forums, other users are also complaining about this problem.
i purchased it in october and it worked fine, but around week 2 the fast charging for my gallaxy stopped working. it would only charge at regular speed some time in november it stopped working completely. at first, i thought it might be the wall socket and tried a different one but nothing. tried to change the cables but didn't work, so i purchased new ones to try again but nothing.
this doesn’t charge faster than any other charger and in fact is slower than my anker a2023 usb a 2 port charger. first time anker has fooled me with this one
