the lens has a good-sized smudge in the lower middle of the right lens. the second pair has the exact same smudge. it does affect the viewing quality and is distracting to your eye. also, the blue light blocking is very mild.
these do nothing to block blue light. besides just putting them on and seeing they're useless, i can measure the transmission of light through the lenses, since part of my job involves building optical assemblies and instrumentation. hardly 5-10% of blue light is blocked. don't waste your money on these. get something of quality.if you want blue light blocking glasses, they need to be orange (<520 nm cutoff) to block blue light, or strong yellow (<450 nm cutoff) to block only uv. the darker, the better, since that determines how much light of that band can pass through. the return window has unfortunately passed, so i gave these to a kid to use for a costume, since it's like wearing clear glasses.
appear to block blue light, with the test kit provided, however they are not anti-reflective, especially the clear frames reflect a lot of light which was too distracting for me.
i did the blue light test and the light comes right through. the frames are very flimsy as well. i recommend getting the complete blue light glasses with the dark orange lenses then you are better protected even if they look strange going out. i only use them in doors anyway. they do block a small amount of blue light so they are not completely useless but i wouldn’t waist your money.
clear lenses with a blue light coating can filter between 5% and 40% of the blue light spectrum that can affect your eyes. if you want to filter more blue light, the lenses of your glasses will likely require a yellow or amber tint. - eyebuydirect.comyeah, so what's the point?
