the button seems like one of those touch style buttons, in that it gives no tactile indication that it's being pressed (no click, no depression, etc); however it actually isn't a touch style button at all- you actually have to push down on it for it to register. it took me a few minutes to realize that. such a retarded flaw that ruins an otherwise decent product.
i live off of the grid and need to plug my phone into my car to keep it charged, but with gas prices high and no need to drive anywhere, it was ridiculous running a car to slowly charge my phone. so i got this solar charger as the sun here is relentless. after i received it, i instantly plugged my phone in and set the solar array in the direct sun. it charged the phone to 16% from near zero but then, stopped... after which i read the instructions. so i plugged the phone into my car and ran it for about a hour before all the blue lights were lit. a full charge according to the pamphlet “manual”. and sometimes the thing would start to charge my phone, sometimes noteven in direct sun, it starts to, then i leave and come back and it’s stopped. it stops charging after a few min. now, even with all the blue lights lit, the green light lit, fullsun... my phone won’t charge. i do not have the original cord for my phone... and no micro usb cord came with this solar device.i feel like i got a fancy/awkward solar flash light but not a charger or battery. will this thing work eventually or is it messed up now? i feel like instructions and aspects of the devise, such as charge on an outlet for 15 hrs before attempting to use in the sun, should be in giant red letters on the box. i got no outlet to charge it with. what i got is hours and hours of sun and a solar battery that sometimes charges my phone and sometimes doesn’t. very generic and unhelpful instruction pamphlet, but the nine led flash light that i don’t need, works great.
bought this product because my buddy had one. took it to the mountains backpacking and made the mistake of not trying it out first. would not charge off the sun still doesn’t but it will charge with the cord. i read the manual many times trying to see if it was operator error and must be a faulty solar panel.
