my item was not charging in the sunin jamaica where we had no lightso i could not use i returned from jamaica august 11th and i did not use this product - i need to exchange or return !!!
the solar panels are not charging at all, which was the sole purpose of buying this item. i'm traveling on the road, staying at national parks where there are not accessible electric outlets. this product has let me down completely. it only charges if i plug it in. moot point! waste of money. don't buy it.
my testing shows i'm able to keep one phone going in perpetuity with this thing assuming low phone use, sunny days, and nobody stealing it from where i park it in the sun. all unlikely in a disaster scenario.
i followed directions; charged first time using wall charger. the solar unit charges very slowly and you don't get much charging power. the companiy solution is to use the wall outlet. what's the point of the solar panels?
the whole purpose of this guy is to charge something on the go. but you cannot attach this battery anywhere, there is no way to.it may work if you're backpacking, and you stay for a day to charge the battery from the sun, and then charge your electronics.. but it is not a typical backpacking scenario.so 3 stars.
i bought this for a trip i’m in the middle of to charge my phone and tablet when i’m camping.after being in direct sun all day it might get my phone to 50-60% with nothing left for my tablet.i’ve pretty much given up on it.i expect to return this when i return from my trip.
the fact that when you go to recharge this using the sun (solar), it gets hot. then it overheats and starts flashing and won’t recharge because it’s too hot and needs to cool down out of the sun first. it’s a catch 22. you have to use the usb plug in cable to charge it. poor design.
