i loved the idea of this box and was so excited to get it but its not very good. pee leaks out of the bottom and puddles under it, because theres a bunch of crevices and cracks in it that litter and pee get into. so when you pull the tray out, the shell still has clumps and dirty pee soaked litter stuck in it and you have to completely dismantle the entire thing to get it out and you have to use a stick or qtip to scoop the clumps out. they need to rework the design.
i was really looking forward to the size of this box for my two cats. it definitely was large enough and easy enough for them to get in and out of. no problem figuring out the entrance and exit. it was a little more cumbersome for scooping time though. took up more space than i anticipated. i did finally get the routine down but....after a few months it took longer to do the cleanup because one or both of my cats were messing up side of the interior and it was leaking out of the openings where it slides in out. the bathroom wall was having to be cleaned and sanitized also. i even had to buy floor protection pads to lay down underneath. so needless to say, i went back to my regular semi-enclosed box where they just jump in and out at the top and it has solid sides so no leaking. gave it a good few months try!
this box injured my cat, her toes got caught in the slats on the top and she fell in the hole with her leg caught and bending around the opening. i had to grab her to get her out and free her toes. luckily the vet said her leg is ok, but it cost me a vet visit and an urgentcare visit because of a couple cat bites. other than that it is good, the drawer is smooth, it's nice and large for my big cats and sturdy enough. one other thing is is there is a lip around the drawer that collects pee if they urinate close to the sides
keeps the litter contained in one place. one problem is that the urine does not stay in the litter box. there is a gap between the top and bottom and the urine leaks out of the container.
for the most part, i do really like this litter box. the down side is that, there is leakage from cat urine. the box is sturdy, i like the ease of just being able to pull out the tray to clean it.
ive been using this litter box for about 2 months now. ive found i dont like it at all. lots of flaws. the litter pan is not tall enough, so my cat will accidentally pee on the walls and it will get all over the floor and its just a disgusting mess. i thought this would be a great litter box to prevent litter mess on the floor but i would much rather vacuum up litter than clean up pee. not sanitary or safe. not to mention the box is so hard to clean because of all the nooks n crannies so it will never be clean. going back to a regular litter box. would never recommend this unfortunately!
do not waste your money on this. it does keep my cats from spraying litter everywhere, but now the problem is pee leaking from the sides of the box. i tried caulking the gaps, but it still leaks. just threw it away for good.
this litter box is very cute and it’s so nice that there’s a front and top entrance! but it is very flimsy for its price and seems very cheap. also, please do not buy if your kitty pees on the walls of the litter box. because it’s a self assembling type litter box, there are seems where the urine can seep through. we wrapped ours in a trash bag to keep the pee from seeping out but that meant we had smelly urine sitting there until we changed the bag. maybe it works better for cats who actually know how to pee in the sand and not on the walls
genuinely if i could give this litter box negative starts i would. this thing leaks like no other and is impossible to get all the way clean. there’s a ton of little crevices that even after cleaning with q-tips just would not get clean unless you plan on hosing it outside it just does not get clean. the leaking is the worst part i didn’t realize piss was leaking out of the back until i decided to get rid of it and now i’m trying to clean piss out of my carpet (-: it’s also pretty small size wise so 0/0 would not recommend.
this cat box isn't good, extremely disappointed. wish i could return... do not buy, cat box leaks in back . i though this would be good but it's not. pretty pricy and now i'll have to throw it away. very unhappy
our cat pees standing up so we purchased this in the attempt to keep her from peeing in the walls. it helped with keeping pee off the walls but since it collapse easily the pee was leaking from the seems where it could collapse and still getting on the floor. while we did use it looking for different one it's a nice concept i like the easy access tray for cleaning. also noticed less litter on the ground since she had to jump out the top which is grated and allows the litter to fall back down. if your cat pees normally then this is a great idea.
two stars for aesthetics. i’m sure it works fine if your cat pees low or is neat when they cover their mess, keeping it below the bottom section. this litter box has a top frame, a mid section that folds, a bottom section, and the litter tray that you can pull out to clean/add litter.my cat pees high and since it has a mid and bottom section, the pee manages to find its way out of the seam wherever the cat pees. i didn’t know this isn’t leak free so our baseboard got ruined. it is puffy with cat pee behind the litter box. she pees high everywhere so it’s just really leaking out of all sides. it’s hard to clean the pee mess up, just so you know. you have to get under the tray and the bottom frame.also if your cat likes to dig a high pile in the back, higher than the bottom section, when you pull the tray out…the litter falls backwards also creating a huge mess in the back. the bottom section is only around 4.5in or less so good luck. i clean the litter box every 1-2 days so it’s not like i’m letting it accumulate too much.unless you have a neat cat, i wouldn’t recommend this abomination to anyone.
this was a cute litter box but it leaks terribly - i had to use puppy pads underneath it and it was such a hassle to clean. i ended up just buying a different one that wasn’t full of holes
let me start with the pros:- 2 entrances, convenient- sliding tray is convenient for cleaning and scooping the litter- looks cute (?)cons (and why i'm getting rid of this after 4 months of use, and after the return window is sadly closed):- since it's a foldable design, there are a ton of little ridges that collect dirty pee litter that then clumps inside of those.. it's impossible to clean those out out, even with a toothbrush or qtips (yes we tried). no matter how much we cleaned, the litter box kept smelling badly because of this.- if your cat is only slightly part of the horizontal pee'er team, their pee will leak through the seams and will drop on the floor. you might not notice at first, but you will smell it eventually. not fun.- the front door hinges are too low, making it uncomfortable for (even) kittens to enter. she just ended up entering from the top instead.we opted for a no-seam, two-part, single-top entry bucket design to prevent this from happening again. now i know why our friends haven't visited us anymore for the last couple of weeks
i love the size and idea of this litter box…but the tray that holds the litter is so shallow that urine, litter leaks out of the box and it’s supposed to be leak free. litter and feces get stuck to the litter box top. this not what i expected when paying nearly $70!!!!
the litter basket depth is too shallow and should be a lot more, at least 6 inches. where the top and base connect is only about 3 inches and my cat like to flick litter towards the back and it builds up about 5 to 6 inches. because on this, litter would probably fall out on the floor when sliding out the litter drawer to clean it. for this reason, i am returning the unit. aside from this, it looks well built but won’t work for me.
