it holds my macbook air just fine and provides a good cushion for the computer. the side pockets are not as useful as you would thing the upper pocket does not extend the entire height of the case. like i expected plus anything in the side pockets takes up space int eh main pocket or atleast puts pressure on the laptop. you cannot put a ipad in the side pockets. also do to the tolerances of the macbooks themselves especially of you have a keyboard cover you should not put a ipad in the main pocket.
i loved the compact design. the handle is helpful. however it is a very snug fit and doesn't leave enough room for power cord or mouse without feeling like it's busting at the seams.
