cats love the new box, but kitty parents, not so much. the grate on top was supposed to clean litter off the paws. the cats hate walking on it, so they jump from the exit door to the bed. this is so fun to sleep in! nothing like getting up off and on all night swiping little chunks of gravel out of the bed. bigger home would be nice, then would be able to move this gravel pit elsewhere.
so i had this thing for maybe two weeks now. the slates at that top are dangerous. my baby cat who is only 5 lbs liked to go into and out of the pottybox from the top. today she was howling and i go in the bathroom and check on her and she is hanging upside by her toe being caught in the grate stuck hanging from the top of the litter box. i instantly have taken the door off the front so they can safely get and out. that was my tiny cat i can only imagine if my 8 year old old lady had gotten caught like that it could have been much worse!!!!!! not very study on top, at all!!!!
