honestly i expected a lot more from anker. the prongs very often slip out. very frustrating. especially when wake up and devices not charged. furthermore it’s not uncommon that the charger heats up considerably. not an obvious association with why. but clearly something can cause a heavy load. would appreciate a response from anker.
it’s a bit bulky, however, it gets the jobs done. it does get a bit warm. other than that it works great for my mom who has multiple devices to charge at night. the bulkiness outweighs needing multiple ports. will buy again when needed.
this charger worked fine for a while. used it very often to charge my laptop and phone at the same time. my only complaint was that it would get very hot. even when not under load.yesterday it simply stopped working after owning it for a little over a year. i expect more for how expensive this charger is. do not recommend for the price.
the good:• it is a very compact 3 port 60w charger• the plug folds• it is convenient when you use multiple devices (but with a catch - read below)• the first usb-c port when used alone can supply the full 65w power of the chargerthe ok:• port power varies per number of connected devices, this is somewhat 90% accurately described on the charger and anker's product page• supports pd and iqthe bad (what they don't tell you, and don't want you to know, but you should):• power factor is bad - ranging from 0.48 for smaller loads to 0.59 for full load. this means you will pay for twice the electricity it puts in your devices and if you are using it in emergencies on batteries and inverters means that as much power that goes in your devices will be also wasted. it also runs at 103va under full load, so running from a 100va (100w) inverter may be hit and miss.• the low power usb-c port will switch to 5v only if anything is plugged in the usb-a port. it is not enough to disconnect the devices from the charger to rectify this, you also need to disconnect the charger for at least 20 seconds to reset the internal controllers• while it supports pd, it does not support 12v on any of the usb-c ports; 12v is supported only on the usb-a port and only in iq (the usb-a port does not seem to support pd or bc) • it heats up easily to 155f at 70f ambient which is both above the widely accepted temperatures for burning hazard (above 120f) and fire hazard (above 140f) - do not use unattended, do not let kids touch it, do not touch for longer than 5 seconds
anker is a good brand and we have many anker products from eufy vacuums to even baby monitors. unfortunately, we don't always have good luck for chargers, where anker brand originally started to get huge business success.the laptop charging port (we haven't used other ports much other than the laptop port) failed pretty soon, and it gets really hot during charging, like too hot to touch. we're concerned if it will catch fire if we put it into the laptop bag before cooling down.
this isn't my first anker product but it's most likely my last. like other anker products that i've had - power banks, chargers, cables - it failed after its warranty term. in my case, when a usb a cable was inserted, the closest usb c port ceased to work. great, a 3 port charger where only 2 ports work.when all three ports were working and charging devices, this charger was incredibly hot to the touch. the only good thing i can say about it is it's compact and easy to travel with, even though it is kind of heavy.
