this water bottle only lasted 7 months before the top broke. if the cap breaks, it is not covered by the warranty. owala will claim that based on their significant testing, they know with certainty that a damaged cap can only happen if dropped and drops are not covered. since these are highly marketed to kids and athletes, why would the cap be so susceptible to breaking from being dropped? mine was not dropped and the cap came out of the dishwasher and then broke when i was screwing it on. i expected either a better quality cap or a better product warranty for the price of the bottle. can’t really use it without a cap.
i love the mouthfeel (weird, but accurate) of the straw. it keeps water cold for plenty long enough. but that's where the good ends...the lid is not great. the button is hard to push and top is difficult to close. the handle gets in the way constantly and is better off removed.does not fit in any cup holders.worst part is the lid will break. look at other low-star reviews about buttons flying off or buying entirely new lids because owala doesn't stock the gasket parts separately. the plastic of my lid broke after 2 weeks and warranty people denied my claim. new lid is only $7 but really? it should last longer than a month. good bottle but durability is terrible.
i like mostly everything about this bottle except for the fact that the button doesn’t really work - you have to press it and the manually lift the lid because most of the time it’s stuck (or takes a few seconds to do it itself). when you have to use both hands and wait a bit every time, the inconvenience starts diminishing the other great qualities of the bottle.
using the handle as a locking feature/cover is completely design fault because i don’t think it’s crazy to want to have the handle open at all time to be able to have the bottle on stand by but instead of it’s not locked or placed back in its spot it completely or else when the bottle tips over the button will trigger and having that happen on 32oz bottles is a pain to clean up. other then that great taste and durability love the free sip feature just wish there was a separate way to lock the bottle.
