maybe i got the bad piece you can see in the pictures and the video the light get dim after around 30ft and at the end it gets dimmer. so i got 3 diff colors in a one solid color function. and its flickering to 🥲
no remote controller. shoddy wifi instructions. difficulty connecting. and when i connected and started setting up the lights it was okay but then i noticed the worst flaw. the led light density was downright miserably low. even for cheap brands. i bought these to replace my day better lights that broke after 3 years of use. saw they were wifi, and usually of higher quality. that seemed to be a lie. especially considering the daybetter ones were 20 bucks and these retail for more than triple that. they're not brighter, nor more dense. it fails in both aspects that you want. what's worse is the rolls of lights cannot be detached from the switch they're connected to. making it a worse user experience in laying out the lights than a cheaper brand. it's more cumbersome and fails in all the metrics compared to cheaper brands, yet it's got a premium price tag. save your money. but any other brand of led light strips you'll be better off. wildly disappointed.picture 1 is the govee lights with their density. picture 2 are the cheapo lights i already had.
the strip seemed alright in the begging, but the whole strip started flickering before even a full week, so now i'm stuck with lights that don't work properly
i installed them on the back side of of 2' x 6' ceiling cloud in a recording studio. i don't see the lights directly, just the glow of them on the ceiling. the ceiling is painted dark, and these lights barely illuminate. with a white ceiling they would likely be more effective. everything else about them is great.
i began by plugging the lights in and testing them. they all worked.. while applying them there was a suddenly a small amount of smoke and a burning smell. the lights remained on but when i attempted to change color/ only half of them would change. i turned them off but when i turned back on only part of the strip would light up.
teenager likes the lights but they aren't sticking! guessing it's an older set that won't last. not worth the money but he's already put them up with alternative adhesive!
the lights themselves are awesome. i purchased 100 feet which came in 2 rolls but attached to one power source. the second roll about 6 lights in does not work. my first roll is up and looks great. hoping they will replace the roll for me.
the lights flicker horribly,not sure if it's the power supply, even when turned off some lights stay on slightly illuminated in some areas. i love the functionality with alexa and have other govee products, these would be great if they dident flicker.
the light are good but i was very disappointed that the light animation is based in blocks of lights and not just one. this make a difference when programming. you can't select just one light, they are in groups of 5 or 6. you can see that there is a chip before each set. the lights are also not as rich as i hoped. the dark red and dark green are not as rich as the typical holiday lights. you can tell the difference between these and our neighbors who have led single color lights. our christmas colors look more like circus colors.
was going to use this behind a samsung frame tv, but because it's so close to the wall, you could tell where the led nodes were, so the lighting didn't create that smooth look.
i have loved all govee lights and bought 200 feet expecting these to be great and these are not bright at all.... very dim compared to the multiple pairs i have....i wouldn't buy again
cool app and features, however, the lights dim and change color the further down the strip it goes/further from power source. also when not 75%+ on brightness they flicker no matter the color. returning for refund.
opened product, plugged in to do a quality check, and one section of lights stayed red no matter the input requests. i shrugged it off and installed into shelf as i wanted. the one section will only display red and green. no animation(s) or other colors work. great product but very unfortunate
after 2 days half of the lights were on the ground because they wouldn’t stickthe lights are good and it does what they say but you need tape or something to keep them on the wall
i had bought 2 100 ft led lights and after 33 days later the lights started to malfunction and started to flicker when i would change the brightness setting to 50% on a 1 color mode on. both of my lights malfunctioned and now i can’t get my money back because it’s past 30 days to return to amazon. i really love the different effects but the malfunction of flickering of the light is driving me crazy. as much as i want to these lights to work i simply can’t recommend them due to them malfunctioning.
