no remote controller. shoddy wifi instructions. difficulty connecting. and when i connected and started setting up the lights it was okay but then i noticed the worst flaw. the led light density was downright miserably low. even for cheap brands. i bought these to replace my day better lights that broke after 3 years of use. saw they were wifi, and usually of higher quality. that seemed to be a lie. especially considering the daybetter ones were 20 bucks and these retail for more than triple that. they're not brighter, nor more dense. it fails in both aspects that you want. what's worse is the rolls of lights cannot be detached from the switch they're connected to. making it a worse user experience in laying out the lights than a cheaper brand. it's more cumbersome and fails in all the metrics compared to cheaper brands, yet it's got a premium price tag. save your money. but any other brand of led light strips you'll be better off. wildly disappointed.picture 1 is the govee lights with their density. picture 2 are the cheapo lights i already had.
the lights work great, the app is easy to use, and there is many different light options you can go through, or make your own display. you can toggle the brightness however you’d like. the only thing is it doesn’t really connect with alexa. the govee home application on alexa has very low reviews due to it simply just not connecting, and for me it was no different. the steps to connect your lights to alexa in the govee app weren’t even finished writing, they cut off at step 3 and it stops there.
these lights are nice. like the look, like the integration with google home and i can use voice commands to turn them on and off. what i do not like is that the 2-50 ft cables of lights are connected! i thought i was getting 2 strings of 50 which i was happy about and it turns out they are joined in the middle. i made it work for me but i just wish it was a little more clear.
i only had the up about 4 months and didnt use them but about 3 times went to turn them on now they want light up i tried reconnecting the male to female and it will flicker but want stay on.
i bought this product for for my kids because they love led lights and i thought it would be cool for them to be able to connect it to their own personal phone so the lights could flash with their music. i download the govee app and selected the model number, despite several tries, the govee lights never popped up as an option to connect via bluetooth. i even tried my own personal phone, turn the lights off, powered bluetooth off, you name that i tried it. very disappointing as this was one of the main features that i looked to for my kids.
i bought these lights to go in my media room. i have several govee products and all work with no issues with alexa however these will not link up with the app. 1 star due to this.
spent three hours trying to attach another to art of the lights to a part to make it longer and the picture above is what i ended up with before finally giving up. also, should be noted it not 65 continuous feet but two 30 something feet sections that both feed out of the one same starting point and once again, you can’t connect them to make it longer.
