i don’t know why, but this smells strongly of chemicals. i didn’t return it because i thought the smell would greatly diminish over time but i was absolutely wrong and i regret not returning it. does it hold a laptop? yes of course- however the way this was manufactured or the way the materials were processed left it with this overwhelming smell that gives me a headache. terrible.
first thing that hit me taking this out of the packaging is how much it stinks and reeks like some chemical (as if it came from a big ohio train wreck). even though i threw it in my washer by itself with two detergent pods that have added deodorizers it still has the horrible smell. i havent traveled with it much yet so i do not have any durability or water resistance experience with it. fitment is somewhat of a joke. it is very tight on my 14 inch ultrabook (and the ultrabook barely slides in when the slim travel charger and mouse are in the bag's pockets.) the bag does have some really nice fuzzy lining though and it looks nice when it is holding my laptop and it feels secure. it has a professional and unisex look to it.if you have an ultrabook then it will work out decently for you. if you have any beefier of a laptop (or even a 14 gaming laptop) then this likely won't work. it also has enough pocket room for the basics (mouse, charger, hotspot, etc). you can't fit much more in the pockets (the pockets are only as deep as half the bag's width)
this review is for the voova 11.6-12inch laptop sleeve. i ordered this for my macbook air 13.6 m2 laptop. the actual measurement of the laptop is 12 inches, so it fit perfect in this bag. the sleeve fit with ease inside my tote for extra protection when traveling. the sleeve isn't bulky at all. it has a handle and padded nicely. i thought this would be an excellent bag with the extra front zippers. the color i ordered was a very pretty purple, as shown online, however it's more deep wine/plum color. at first i thought it was black, which would have been better. there's an extremely strong chemical smell from this bag. the smell carried through the zippered plastic bag it shipped in. i previously ordered the larger size, but in gray. there was no smell at all, so i ordered this smaller bag. it would have been an excellent bag, and a good price. the strong smell and wrong color is the main reason it's getting returned. it shipped without any packaging other than the half-zipped bag from the manufacturer. i prefer a little more packaging, since it was left outside.
seems like a good case that fits many specs but a large con is the offgassing smell from this case which is unbearable for me.have aired out this case for over a week now outside and it still smells.
the build quality is good otherwise, but the sleeve comes with a disgusting smell (of new plastic?) that last as long as the sleeve will do. the smell won't go away even after gentle cleaning.don't consider this if you are concerned, otherwise the sleeve quality iis good and protects well.
i wanted to like this, it seems like it meets all functional requirements, however the smell has been horrendous. i can't imagine what toxic fumes have been coming off this thing for weeks. its been almost a month and it still hasn't degassed to a tolerable level. i hope my lifespan isn't decreased from this thing...
i purchased 2 of these bags: one for my personal laptop (red) and the second for carrying papers to work meetings (blue). i love the functionality and design of the bags-very simple, sized just right for my needs and easy to carry. i would’ve given this product 5 stars, but the blue bag has a very odd chemical smell. i didn’t return it right away because i thought the odor would eventually dissipate. but, unfortunately, the smell is just as strong 5 weeks later and i’ve waited too late to return it.
