my cat likes to dig and also pee up on the side, which makes this design pretty terrible. the gaps on the side allow all of litter to escape while your cat digs and makes a huge mess. if the litter isn’t laying flat, it’s hard to open the bottom shelf, therefore pushing all of the built up litter out of the back. overall not a great design.
this box injured my cat, her toes got caught in the slats on the top and she fell in the hole with her leg caught and bending around the opening. i had to grab her to get her out and free her toes. luckily the vet said her leg is ok, but it cost me a vet visit and an urgentcare visit because of a couple cat bites. other than that it is good, the drawer is smooth, it's nice and large for my big cats and sturdy enough. one other thing is is there is a lip around the drawer that collects pee if they urinate close to the sides
this litter box is very cute and it’s so nice that there’s a front and top entrance! but it is very flimsy for its price and seems very cheap. also, please do not buy if your kitty pees on the walls of the litter box. because it’s a self assembling type litter box, there are seems where the urine can seep through. we wrapped ours in a trash bag to keep the pee from seeping out but that meant we had smelly urine sitting there until we changed the bag. maybe it works better for cats who actually know how to pee in the sand and not on the walls
our cat pees standing up so we purchased this in the attempt to keep her from peeing in the walls. it helped with keeping pee off the walls but since it collapse easily the pee was leaking from the seems where it could collapse and still getting on the floor. while we did use it looking for different one it's a nice concept i like the easy access tray for cleaning. also noticed less litter on the ground since she had to jump out the top which is grated and allows the litter to fall back down. if your cat pees normally then this is a great idea.
i’ll start out by saying my cats are scaredy cats. they don’t like the change. they didn’t want to go through the front clear door so i had to take it off.they also go out that door of course since it’s open instead of jumping out the top. the scooper is small and the bottom is slicker finish than most boxes i’ve used before. it’s also short so i have to be careful when pulling it out because my cats like to push it all to one end. all in all, not a great fit for my cats.
the litter basket depth is too shallow and should be a lot more, at least 6 inches. where the top and base connect is only about 3 inches and my cat like to flick litter towards the back and it builds up about 5 to 6 inches. because on this, litter would probably fall out on the floor when sliding out the litter drawer to clean it. for this reason, i am returning the unit. aside from this, it looks well built but won’t work for me.
my 3 year old full grown cat got her toe stuck in the holes on top last night. she was screaming in pain and i think she broke it. the holes on top for the litter to fall down is a great idea but the size of these holes allows for the toes to slide in and get stuck. my cat is terrified to use this litter box again.
i wanted to like this product. i love that it’s see-through so i can see when it really needs cleaned, yet it provides a door for my cat’s privacy.the problem is that the cat kicks the litter around before after use, and that litter then collects against the back sides of the box so that when you slide the tray out to clean it, litter goes everywhere. additionally, when the cat jumps out of the hole at the top of the box, litter comes off their paws lands on the top of my box.so basically there’s litter on the inside sides, litter on the back, and litter on the top. it’s everywhere. i wouldn’t buy this agsin.
believe me, i tried. she has 2 litter boxes, and i just replaced her older one with this litter box she just would not open the door. i tried showing her how to push the door open multiple times a day for over a week she just refused to use it with the door on it.i even tried to get her to enter through the top but nope. didn’t use it once for a whole week, only used her other box. today i finally gave up and took the door off of it and she used it right away, but she didn't use the top exit and of course kicked litter everywhere lol. the entire reason i bought this litter box was for litter tracking, and without the door theres nothing preventing her from kicking the litter out.reading other reviews this doesn't seem to be an issue for most cats but i figured i should write a review for those of us who have smooth brained kitties lol- if you think your cat may not be able to figure out how to push open the door i would try a different litter box.giving it 3 stars because its still a super cute litter box and even though my cat wont use it with the door on it, it wasn’t a total waste as shes able to use it now fine without the door, i just have to sweep more often. it’s also easy to slide the box out to clean it and i was able to get a litter liner on it so thats a plus for me too.
my fat cat loved this litter box... i did not. my cat has a habit of beginning to stand before she's done peeing, resulting in her peeing on the back wall of the litter box. unfortunately, with this litterbox being as segmented as it is, pee would get all in the cracks and crevices of this box. i'd gotten into the habit of wiping it down with a wet wipe daily (sometimes multiple times daily) and taking the box outside and washing it out weekly. but then i started taking it out to wash it any time there was pee on the wall and after doing that 3 times last week, i've had enough.like i said, real shame because my cat loves it, but it is just not clean or practical. if your cat doesn't pee on the wall, this is the box for you. if your cat does pee on the wall, avoid.
i had to return the litter box because pee kept seeping through and i had to clean the floor everyday. my cat must be peeing on the side of it and since it isn’s solid, it seeped through. it was such a mess everyday.
if you have kittens or just one cat then this might be the litter box for you. if you have multiple cats you would be better off getting something deeper. i think it's depth/shallowness is the biggest problem it has. it fills up quickly. and as far as it's pull out tray for easy cleaning, it's a good idea but because the box walls are so small, our adult cats manage to scatter litter though the cracks when they dig in the litter. sure, the design is cute.... i wanted to like it but it's not very practical or functional.
it’s a pretty good size and good quality material but our cats like to kick the litter over the spots they went potty and the litter just goes right out the back part of the litter tray so it just makes a gigantic pile behind the litter box on my carpet. i like the design and stability and overall idea of it (i bought it so they wouldn’t get litter everywhere when they jumped out of the front) by them going out the top giving the litter a chance to go back in instead of out on the floor in the front but the opening from the tray in the back defeats the purpose because they kick a very significant amount of litter out the back of the tray where the tray and back wall don’t connect.
can’t rate this zero stars so one it is.would have been great quality if it didn’t leak.there are holes where the middle part snaps into the bottom where the tray slides in.on the inside where it connects, there is a lip and if the cat pees in that lip, which is inevitable.it’s coming outside of the litter tray and straight onto the floor.
received it tray was cracked....i don't really think it is a good idea to to use this box.my cat went into it and freaked out.she thought she couldn't get out.
urine may soak out to the outer case of the litter. the connecting part is not solid; i had to put tape to cover the areas where are some spaces. also, the roof part is not sturdy at all. one of my cats is 23lbs. he struggled to get out and the roof caved in. i don't know how long this will last.update: the bottom tray is too shallow, when the cat covers the « business », the litter gets out of the tray everywhere. none of my cats uses it since i put the front cover. none. it’s just sitting there unused. they all use another litter box instead.
the litter pan is pretty shallow, and i use it with litter pan liners. that makes it difficult for me to slide out the bottom tray to clean, so i just go in from the opening at the top. it’s perfectly fine, but i probably won’t buy it again. two of my cats love it though and that is what matters most.
i have two cats and neither could figure out how to yet in or get out. the hole was too small for my larger cat, and when i tried to clean it, all the litter spilled out of the back corner and made a disgusting mess.
