first off the lighting is not very good with dim spots scattered all over the keyboard and keep in mind blue is the only color. aside from that the sound the keys make is very satisfying and very easy to type on.
overall, this keyboard functions pretty well given the price and it's a solid budget option. however there are some small mistakes that i think need sharing.1. the backlight doesn't evenly shine through on some keys (as seen in the capslock and left shift keys in the images attached)2. the extra included keycaps (red ones) don't have translucent letters on them, meaning they will not light up. not a huge deal just something i noticed.3. the included tool used to take the keycaps off will not fit in the space above or below the key if the key is on the top or bottom row, making it pretty inconvenient to take those keys out. (see image 3)4. some keys look different than they do in the pictures. for example, the shift and enter keys have arrows next to them on the real keyboard but in the listed pictures, they do not. all the keys with these discrepancies include: both shift keys, enter, tab, capslock, page up, and page down.5. the kickstand feet make the keyboard very slightly wobbly. i have tested this on multiple flat surfaces and it only wobbles when the feet are up. note that it does not wobble constantly, rather only when slight pressure is applied to the top right or bottom left corners of the keyboard. (such as pressing backspace or left ctrl)6. last thing, (very petty) the font appears to be different on the real keyboard as opposed to the font in the pictures. i couldn't find either of the exact fonts used, but when comparing the images side by side the difference is clear.all that being said the only thing that might be an issue is that the keyboard is pretty loud. however if you wear headphones most of the noise is reduced. i tested this with noise cancelling headphones and with noise cancelling off, and i can say that it's not a big deal. however if there is someone in the room with you it will probably annoy them. but hey, the keyboard only costs $30 and for that price it is pretty good. although i would strongly recommend just saving up to buy a higher end one.
as you would expect for a cheap mechanical keyboard, it doesn't meet the quality someone would probably want. it is really clicky but not in a good way. it like a cheap rattling, hollow click that is very annoying for long term use. then, the backlight only turns like a cyan color. i know it's cheap but how expensive could adding full rgb lights be? next, the keycaps are low quality, they wiggle a little bit as well as feel really thin and plasticky. i wouldn't really recommend it since there are better budget options, but fine if you really like the style.
the keyboard looks and feels great. it's just the aesthetic i was looking for to add to my work computer/desk, and the backlight is good but not distracting.however. you cannot type more than 40 wpm on it or it will begin missing multiple key presses in a row. i type fast on a regular basis (working in a desk job will do that to you), and i cannot function in my day to day missing letters out of my words.just as an example (and i suppose you'll have to take my word for it), here's a sentence typing slowly, followed immediately by what it looks like when i type at full speed (which is around 80-90wpm).the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.te quick brown fox jumpdover the lazy dog.don't waste your money, buy something for slightly more that will actually perform its function.
for the price i wasnt expecting much but this keyboard is made really badly, some of the plastic edges need to be sanded down. the lights is very dim even at the highest setting. also the paint in already chipping off the keys.
looks good but back lighting is poor and functionality however is sub par. everytime i wanna use it i have to unplug it and plug it back in. than about 10 minutes (at most) later i have to do it again. idk what the deal is with it but i'm highly disappointed. if it would work every time i wanted it to that would be another story than i'd be pleased and impressed with it.
feels nice, until you use it. only f and j have homing bars. not the arrow keys, or space, or enter, or tab. you feel blind typing on this partially lit, one color, unresponsive landfill. plus it weighs as much as my full size with an audio bar.
the way the light hits the keys it makes them look gross and dirty.functionally it does great. works perfect.the keys are what you expect at this price point.it's a good budget option, and it works good enough
the overall build quality as in the material of the keyboard is pretty good but the finishing of the keys isn’t up to the mark, for ex- the character on a few key on this board are not well lit like the rest of the board. as one can see in the attached screenshot, in the capslock word only the l alphabet is lit properly other alphabets are kinda dim. other than that, the extra keys that you receive with this keyboard do not support backlight i.e they’re just solid plastic and light doesn’t pass through the lettering in them. also, the keyboard i ordered was grey/blue which means the extra keys should have been blue and not red! the keyboard is a little loud. i’ll return this and go for a better one!
i disliked the lighting issue as the lighting makes it cool for those wondering there is no software and also the letters and number and other symbols on the keyboard doesn't light up fully there are difrent modes, and i liked how it came with a keycap puller it is not hot-swappable and the main feature i don't like is that i don't know if this only happens with my one but it randomly disconnects but to fix this re-plug it i wouldn't recommend this keyboard as there many better options for only 5 extra the clicks on the keyboard sounds satisfying on the blue switches though
the keyboard i a great size, and getting used to it wasn't difficult; however, the keyboard key lights are not bright enough to use in an office setting or a well-lit room.
received the product with extra keys of orange color. however, some of the keys are for full size keyboards and not for the 50%. in short, some are too long when they should be short. in addition, i can't lock the functions keys as stated in the manual (fn + esc, 1, 2, 3).j it does work if i press fn and the corresponding key though.the backlight is ok, not very bright but usable. the keys are very loud so i wouldn't recommend using it when someone is around.
i really liked this compact keyboard and blue back lighting. after a few weeks the backlight would fade off and on and would not stay fully lit. i ordered a different keyboard and do not like it as well as the magegee, but the magegee malfunctioned.
says it has 15 charming backlighting options. none of them are freakinig off. avoid if that's going to annoy the bejeezus out of you. also no volume control? c'mon.
last year. in the middle of playing a game and using the keyboard, suddenly it just stopped picking up inputs and rgb stopped working. i don't know why but i regret buying this now.
the first keyboard didn’t fully light up - i tried to troubleshoot and even sent a message to vendor - no response. we returned and got another one. after two months the a key stopped working. then the d key stopped working. i wouldn’t recommend. my son went nuts.
i recently purchased the magegee portable 60% mechanical gaming keyboard, and i can't express enough how disappointed i am with this product. it's a far cry from what was advertised, and every aspect of it screams cheap and subpar.first and foremost, the keyboard's appearance is a total letdown. the sleekness portrayed in the pictures is nowhere to be found in reality. the build quality is cheap and plasticky, making it look more like a child's toy than a gaming keyboard. the overall design lacks the refinement and elegance that was promised.the lighted keys are another huge disappointment. rather than emitting a cool and immersive glow, they look gaudy and tacky. the lighting effects are poorly executed and seem more like an afterthought rather than a well-integrated feature. it's as if the manufacturer tried to compensate for the lackluster design with flashy lights, but it only serves to highlight the keyboard's overall cheap feel.speaking of feel, the plastic keys are a nightmare. they lack any sort of tactile feedback or satisfying keystroke experience. instead, they feel flimsy and fragile, giving the impression that they might break after just a few weeks of use. the keys are also incredibly loud – and not in a good way. the obnoxious clicky noises they produce with every press are nothing short of irritating, making it impossible to use this keyboard in a quiet environment without disturbing everyone around.the overall performance of this keyboard is nothing to write home about either. key presses often result in missed or repeated characters, and the lack of responsive feedback only exacerbates the issue. for a so-called gaming keyboard, it falls flat on its face when it comes to delivering a smooth and reliable gaming experience.in conclusion, i regret every penny i spent on the magegee portable 60% mechanical gaming keyboard. its cheap appearance, tacky lighting, plastic keys, and deafeningly loud noises make it a prime example of false advertising and a waste of money. i strongly advise against purchasing this keyboard if you're looking for a quality gaming experience – there are far better options available on the market.
i'm going to return it. what i don't care for is that it is extremely hard to type without mistakes. it seems to me that the letter is typed before the key hits full bottom. it's easy to bump another key as you type and since it fires off easily you get a lot extra garbage inside your typing that is very problematic to correct. also it could be the way i have it set, but the back lighting on the keyboard stays on even when the computer goes to sleep. it seems like the back lighting should shut off after a specified time of disuse. there really aren't any instructions on how to set the back lighting, but it has a lot of configurations which turn the keyboard into a light show, most which are just annoying.
